presentation of the TR 650 Strada 2013
after the successful introduction of its Nuda 900 roadster, Husqvarana continues its offensive in the road bike segment with the new TR 650 Strada. Since joining BMW, the late Swedish brand has sought to break away from cross-country and enduro terrain with panache. After the characterful roadster, here's something to mark out urban territory with a very vindictive single.
take a good look at this trail bike, with its sharp lines, nervous muzzle, slender body and fino muscle. It's hard to believe that the base is derived from the G 650 GS, the TR 650's first cousin. Even the engine seems to come from a different oven. While the mono gently pumps out 48 hp under the Bavarian banner, the Husqy boasts no less than 58. Nice work by the engine-makers. No need to touch the internal ribs, they've optimized everything around them.
A new mold for the cylinder head provides more efficient guidance for the intake and exhaust ducts.new camshafts with longer lifts, larger valves, a higher compression ratio, and a new forged piston that's 20% lighter yet stronger, all add up to a boost in power and revs.on the downside, maximum power and torque are achieved at higher revs (750 rpm more).
As for peripheral breathing, the 652 cm3 is surrounded by a redesigned airbox and an adapted exhaust system with double muffler under the seat (note the square shape of the tailpipes, meant to evoke the Husqvarna logo).
engine-wise, the plumage is as good as the ramage. And since the TR 650 Strada is designed to shake up urban riding, Husqvarna has given it a simple, efficient chassis, halfway between roadster and supermotard. A very conventional tubular steel frame, combined with a big 46 mm inverted fork. A single 300 mm front disc brake to stop this 168 kg machine, coupled with disconnectable ABS (standard). And to improve mass balance and center of gravity, the fuel tank is positioned under the rider's seat. The rider sits lower than on the Terra version. Depending on their purpose, the TR models are slightly different: 64° caster angle on the Strada, 63.5° or 63° on the Terra, specific tire and suspension settings, spoked rims on one and the other.
with this TR 650 Strada, Husqvarna has come to play on the terrain of urban trails in search of emotions. In visual terms, it's clearly something to be noticed. Technically, the machine is reminiscent of some aspects of the KTM Duke 2 - a rather sparkling sandwich for a discerning public.
P.S.: The TR 650 will be available in a 48 hp version, valid for the A2 license.

At last, the return of the all-purpose Mono! Lovers of the Poum Poum for a very long time will have loved it after so many years at around 48hp that it's sweet to see this architecture evolve a little.
The duke is less versatile and certainly a little more advanced, but what about performance and maintenance/overhaul etc. (over 70hp for a gromono!)? Rating : 5/5 Respond to Kent
Finally, it's not a revolution, the MT-03 is just a trail bike in the same vein, but less powerful and heavier (I've had one).
I'm asking about second-hand prices, but I'm sure it hasn't sold... :(
