presentation of the TC 125 2016
The new-generation motocross range marks the launch of the first new 2-stroke engine in years. The 125 cm3 is significantly smaller and lighter, and benefits from completely renewed and re-engineered internal components, a new exhaust valve and a new exhaust system to ensure 40 horsepower and greatly improved overall performance. Lightweight, the TC 125 inspires confidence and offers total control thanks to harder brakes, Pro Taper handlebars and ODI locking grips.
engine
with power output up from 38 to 40 hp and a weight reduction from 19.3 kg to 17.2 kg, the new 125 cm3 engine represents a significant generational advance in 2-stroke technology. Kick start standard, electric starter optional Husqvarna Accessories.
- new-generation 2-stroke -> greater power and torque, more compact and lightweight
- Optimized weight centralization -> significant benefits for ride and handling
new cylinder and piston
the new cylinder features a 54 mm bore, reworked transfers and an innovative new exhaust valve that improves power delivery throughout the rev range. As well as packing a punch in terms of performance, the new cylinder incorporates a redesigned water chamber that improves cooling, maximizing reliability and durability. The piston has been completely redesigned to match the new cylinder's characteristics.
- Reworked cylinder and exhaust valve -> 360g less weight, improved performance and cooling
new crankshaft
the new crankshaft is lighter and differently balanced from the previous version to reduce vibration. It is now 37 mm higher in the engine to improve mass centralization.
- Repositioned crankshaft -> improved mass centralization
new crankcases
the new generation of motocross models features completely reworked engines, with the main objectives of mass centralization and weight reduction. All essential components have been repositioned: the crankshaft has been moved up 37 mm and the clutch shaft 27 mm. These modifications also involved a complete overhaul of the crankcases, which are now significantly more compact and lightweight. TC 125 crankcases can be fitted with an optional electric starter.
The high-pressure molding production process keeps overall weight to a minimum, ensuring thin walls. The historic Husqvarna logo embellishes the bronze finish of the crankcase covers.
- Reworked crankcases -> lighter and more compact; optimized mass centralization
- High-pressure molding production process -> thin walls for reduced weight while preserving strength.
new gearbox
200g lighter and 6mm narrower, the all-new 6-speed gearbox features the same range ratios as its predecessor. The gear selector features a new, cutting-edge design to prevent dirt build-up.
- Revamped lightweight 6-speed gearbox -> 200 g lighter and 6 mm narrower
magura clutch
The Magura hydraulic clutch guarantees excellent modulation and clutch actuation.
