presentation of the GV 650 AQUILA 2006
this is the story of a Korean twin, as ambitious as the manufacturer that created it. Hyosung's offensive in the medium-displacement segment began with the Comet roadster, and continues with the sporty R and S models, as well as with this custom, which cleverly completes the range. All these machines are powered by a liquid-cooled 647 cm3 twin-cylinder engine. Embedded in the Aquila, the mill changes gearbox, which in this case has only 5 gears.
Custom, yes, but not like the others. The silhouette of the Aquila is in keeping with the aesthetic canons of the genre, with a touch of youthfulness. Some features didn't convince us of their presence or usefulness. The inverted fork immediately adds visual impact, but is it really useful on a custom bike of this cubage? Mounted on a bracket inspired by the Harley V-Rod, the fully digital speedo doesn't really fit in - we preferred a good old-fashioned needle speedo, as is our custom. Speaking of inspiration, it's impossible not to think of the Yamaha Road Star Warrior with its big exhaust, or the Honda VTX-like headlight.
the Hyosung GV 650's weapons are not its stylistic derivatives. Above all, the Aquila is one of the lightest customs on the market, aggressively priced, and also the most powerful in its segment. Nearly 80 hp... With the competition, you need much more than a liter of displacement to get that kind of power. As for torque availability, it'll be a little higher up the rev range.
Interesting in more ways than one, the Aquila 650 still has everything to prove if it is to make a breakthrough among bikers. At a price close to that of a small roadster, there are already a few eyes that can be turned.

Quand je veut mettre en route ma moto un indicateur s'affiche Cfe donc impossible de démarrer par moment je peut Quand elle est sur la position zéro met elle s'arrete au bout de 1 mm. Otherwise, when I turn the key, the fuel pump starts and I can't find it. I've checked the 2 fuses, 15 and 30 amps Rating : 3/5 Respond to Carwis
disassemble the contactor, clean it with a can of electrical contact cleaner and reassemble it with lubricant. It works like a charm! Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation

Hello,
The motorcycle switch-off is often due to the kickstand contact, it can't withstand the Karcher wash at the station. Shunt it with a switch. Better grease the contact stem or shunt it.
If the problem persists, change the kickstand contact. Never use the karcher or the engine, and see the instruction manual for injector contacts. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

We got rid of them (after realizing that it wasn't a bad choice of the former), because seeing the admiring looks of others on our mounts caused us no pleasure, and "well" sold them to look for a nimble, powerful, fast custom that avoids the drawbacks of H-Ds. The "others" still look at our current bike...!!!! But this one gives us some unforgettable hours, despite the HYOSUNG brand proudly displayed on it !!!!!
What's more, our unit hasn't obliged us to go to the dealer for anything other than servicing, replacing parts specified by the manufacturer for mileage and buying a few accessories to make our trips more enjoyable. I only took the precaution of changing the original battery for one of very good quality and more efficient technology, which is also slightly less bulky. Whereas the H-Ds had required some fine-tuning, and a number of minor hiccups to be ironed out, all the more so as these were bikes that had cost us around five times as much as the Aquila
I admit that the Aquila lags behind in terms of finish and component quality. Chrome is on plastic. That the customization possibilities are minimal, and so on. But when it comes to quantifying the pleasure of purely "motorcycle" riding on all kinds of roads, especially mountain roads or those that twist and turn like real bikers like, I think there's only one H-D that can compare with this Aquila, and that's the V-Rod. But more "imprecise" and trickier to ride at the right pace.
This is just my humble opinion based on first-hand experience. Fortunately, I can afford a big custom if showing off becomes a priority for me, but that's no match for the joy of still being able to drive something other than a two-wheeled tractor at my age. Don't be too upset if you have, or dream of, driving one of these beautiful Americans... I'm sure you'll find arguments that I don't share, and you'll probably be right, it's just that I'm not in favor of sacrificing my pleasures for others that don't thrill me, even if the majority of mortals put them first
By chance I landed on this site, which I find interesting, but I'm not very used to logging on to forums and chats, so I'll leave you my e-mail address in case any of you wish to contact me for more information about my Aquila 650

Thank you for your attention and be careful on the roads so that you can compare your motorcycling experiences when you're 60
Best regards.

Two fellow travellers have kindly suggested that calling a Harley a two-wheeled tractor is an exaggeration...
I stand corrected:
... a LUXURIOUS and beautiful two-wheeled tractor !!!!!!!
I recognize that my sarcastic humor can be irritating, but I'm willing to apply it to the obvious flaws of the Aquila 650, because it has them.
On that note, I'm off to set it off, as the rain seems to be calling a truce today... !!!!!
Bonne route à tous.

The result is that in the almost one year I've owned it, I've had to drive it for barely six months. The regulator broke down twice, and both times the dealer made me wait an eternity to change it.
Apart from that, it's true that this bike is great, especially solo. It's not a thunderbolt when it comes to torque, but on the other hand, it's powerful at high revs and takes off like a rocket thanks to its exceptionally good power-to-weight ratio for a custom.
The noise is very pleasant, the riding position very "transatlantic", and the look particularly "m\'as-tu-vu". Rating : 1/5 Respond to Martin
However, a clattering noise halfway up the revs spoiled my peace of mind a little.
A little bit of foam between the speedo and the handlebars and that was it.
It pushes well if you rev it up a bit. On the other hand, it's made for solo riding only. Too bad. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

I plan to invest in a GV 650 AQUILA this summer
Two questions come to mind
Is it reliable and are parts easy to find?
A motorcycle website states that the duo is practically impossible due to a passenger seat that is closer to a folding seat than a real seat?
Thanks Rating : 5/5 Respond to ArtaXerxes
i currently have a dragstar 1100 from 2001.
it's very good, but in my opinion very heavy...262 kgs unladen!
i put a non-approved pot in it, and it makes an incredible racket :) , :(
i tried the hyosung before buying this one,
in comparison, it's very smooth (injection)
too quiet (original pot required)
very light, in my opinion, one of its great qualities!
not very comfortable (saddle needs redoing, as another member said)
it starts right away, very well!
the speedometer may be a little too high-tech for this type of machine (custom)
but then, can you really complain about having a clock, gas gauge, etc.?
i didn't buy it because the guy didn't inspire me and also because the sound was way too "sweet" for a custom!
it's possible to have it changed for an ixil (or other) see on ebay (homologated and you can remove the DB)
i think it's really a bike to consider!!!
plus the 2013/2014 version is even prettier (personal opinion) Rating : 3/5 Participate in the conversation
engine pushes hard for a custom bike of this size
no room under the seat
if not, I really appreciate it
a brand that deserves to be better known Rating : 5/5 Respond to jo
This GV650 looks great, and as far as quality is concerned, I don't think there will be any particular problems, since Hyosung has been making Suzuki engine parts for some forty years..
So we can reasonably expect reliability equivalent to that of the Suzukis
I've started saving to buy a Hyosung in about 20 months' time... I like my Kawa too, so I'm not going to give it up just yet! Rating : 5/5 Respond to polpso
