presentation of the 125 Twin 2017
a troublemaker enters the 125 cm3 segment. The French company Icône intends to assert its interests by following the market trend.
import company 1pulsion launches its own brand of 125 motorcycles! Building on the success of Mash, Icone Motorcycles is launching its first neo-retro 125. "Icône" is the name chosen by the French company, based in Sucy-en-Brie on the outskirts of Paris. It's hard to be more exhaustive, and that's no mean feat. The brand is aimed at the 125 cm3 café racer and custom sectors, which have everything "in the mouth". Although there are already a few of them surfing the wave, the brand has arrived at the foot of the rollers full of determination.
of course, the main argument is the range on offer. And for the moment, it's limited to the Icône 125 Twin, halfway between a scrambler and a custom. It's a motorcycle that's very much in tune with the times, and by verging on the anachronistic, it's sure to be a hit.
a closer look reveals a pretty little face. Though scantily clad, this mini-custom is dressed with respect for all the codes of the genre. The in-line twin that powers the 150-kilogram unit looks rather plush. Powered by twin carburetors, it boasts a dozen horsepower. The fork doesn't look flimsy, and even helps to make it look big. The same goes for the rear shock absorbers, with separate pressurized canisters. While their effectiveness remains to be confirmed, it's no less true that all these elements give the bike its allure.

No information has been released about the manufacturing site, but given the price we've quoted, it's unlikely to be on home soil. Like Mash, the Icône brand has to shop in China. This young upstart will be offered at the engaging price of €2999, which is still higher than that of a Mash 125 Black Seven or another Orcal, not to mention the absence of ABS. Enough to sow a few ideas in the minds of motorists in search of charisma.
From the fittings to the price, the 125 Twin can claim a certain commercial success, but from that to becoming a new icon... Time will tell.
1Pulsion? The company imports, among others, the PGO brand, a Taiwanese company specializing in scooters and buggies. Its order book also included a Spanish 125 named Leonart Daytona 125, reminiscent of the iconic 125 Twin.
