presentation of the Ninja 500 SE 2024
Time has been kind to the average Ninja: in 15 years, it has doubled in displacement, gained a much more rugged silhouette, and approached the A2 power limit with its 45 hp. Except in the States, where it produces 51 hp (almost the same in hp) 1000 rpm higher. Now it's in the world of half-liters, where it's not yet a big-cube, but where seriousness is beginning to make its way. Kawasaki comes to the market with not one, but two Ninja 500s: the first to enjoy the essentials, the second to appreciate the added technological value.
The segment has become tense. You have to go out and fight with the CBR 500 R, RC 390, CF Moto 450 SR and Aprilia RS 457. The SE version of the Ninja 500 is there to enhance its presence over and above its performance. In addition to more accomplished colors (including the inevitable Replica KRT color), the Special Edition also offers Kipass keyless ignition, LED turn signals, rim edging, a USB-C socket and a color TFT screen.
As with the standard Ninja 500, the interface can be hooked up to the phone and exchange all kinds of stuff: the Rideology app, news, route logs, call and message notifications. But it has to be said that the SE's speedometer gives it a more qualitative and digital dimension.
The Ninja SE doesn't come with tuning or extra power. Engine, chassis, technical specs, riding position, performance and motivation are identical. The only difference is a slight weight gain of one kilo. An interesting machine for learning to show your teeth in front of the curves. But if you've got a hankering for a half-whacky pistard with a similar displacement, the distant cousin ZX-4R could tickle your adrenaline box.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 2 reviews
The engine is smooth and sober (being reasonable, I use around 3.5 L / 4.00 L). It revs up nicely, with a pleasant sound that's not harsh on the environment. The riding position is that of a GT sports bike and doesn't break the wrists. I like it because it offers the "ninja" spirit aesthetically, without calling into question one's license to ride overpowered ninjas. I'm an old biker now, and the performance of this A2 model is good enough for me. For others, the ninja is available in other displacements .... Rating : 4/5 Respond to kawa17
