Motorcycle specifications Kawasaki Kawasaki Ninja H2 HySE 2025 The Air of the Future
presentation of the Kawasaki Ninja H2 HySE 2025
Kawasaki is exploring a variety of mobility solutions and new technologies to drive its future. Its Ninja H2 Hyse prototype showcases one of the paths taken, utilizing the most abundant element in the universe. This hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine motorcycle was designed and built as part of a research project that began in March 2023, with testing starting this year and culminating in public demonstrations.
The machine is equipped with an engine based on the 998cc supercharged inline-four found in Kawasaki’s Ninja H2, with modifications made to allow for direct hydrogen injection into the cylinders. The motorcycle’s chassis was designed to accommodate 25-liter hydrogen tanks in the side cases and an onboard hydrogen supply system.
Thanks to hydrogen combustion, the engine emits only water; and a very small amount of CO2 due to the minute quantities of engine oil burned.
As part of its carbon neutrality initiative, Kawasaki Motors is currently conducting research and development with the goal of producing a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine motorcycle as an option for riders starting in the early 2030s.
