presentation of the Versys 900 SE 2027
The highly anticipated Versys 900 enriches and perfectly complements Kawasaki’s range of adventure touring bikes. A Z 900 transformed into a crossover and a direct competitor to the Tracer 9—that’s quite a challenge for this bike; especially since it’s equipped with all the right assets: striking looks, a distinctive identity, a highly regarded 948 cm³ 4-cylinder engine with 122 chevaux at its disposal, nearly 10 mkg of torque, a reinforced frame, 43-mm inverted forks, radial brake calipers, advanced electronics (*), and refined road handling… In short, it’s not here to test the waters but to make a splash.
And it’s not coming alone. For the past few years, Kawa’ has been releasing a Special Edition for nearly all its models. These are particularly highlighted with cooler color schemes. The case is just as obvious with the Versys 900: very understated colors for the standard model, and a burst of color that’s sure to turn heads for the SE.
“SE” also represents a philosophy tailored to each bike. It can mean modified chassis components for greater comfort or efficiency, or a full suite of factory-installed accessories. The Versys 900 SE opts for the latter.
More time with it
First step: get ready for winter. Your hands will be much better off with the installation of hand guards and heated grips. Next, protect the bike. That’s the job of the side skid plates, which shield the frame, and a grille to protect the radiator from flying gravel, wasps, and other wildlife. Then, for everyday use, the center stand will always come in handy. The package is rounded out by a two-piece engine guard to add a bit more character and a pair of small fog lights.

No semi-active suspension? No, that’s not on the agenda. Some competitors, such as the Tracer 9 GT and Multistrada V2 S, don’t shy away from it. Does the Versys’s character suggest that the suspension should do the thinking instead of the mechanic?
For this model, the Versys 900 SE should cost two extra purple bills. All you need to do is find a good pair of pants, and you’ll be able to ride all year round.
