Motorcycle specifications Kawasaki1200 ZX-12R 2000 Without mastery, power is...

presentation of the 1200 ZX-12R 2000
following on from Suzuki's thunderous 1300 GSX-R and its 340-meter powerplant, Kawasaki has cautiously and discreetly unveiled its super-powered ZX-12R. In full throttle, the bike delivers no less than 180 hp and clocks up close to 300 km/h!
but the greens didn't stop at making a horsepower-packed engine. The 12R's chassis is surprising in more ways than one. Unlike 90% of the sportbikes on the market, there's no double-spar aluminum perimeter frame, but a monocoque chassis that also acts as an airbox. The fuel tank is just a cover - the real thing is mostly under the seat.
with this type of architecture, Kawa wanted to achieve a machine that would be very stable at high speeds, but also short enough for good agility. In terms of stability, there's nothing to say except that it's impeccable. On the other hand, the ZX-12R is not as commendable. Less lively than the competition, and more physical in its transitions, the big Ninja demands a firm grip. You have to earn it. On the other hand, the engine deserves nothing but praise. Overpowering, fantastically torquey and very full (except in the French version), it's a delight!
developed in collaboration with Kawasaki's aeronautics department, the fairing ensures good protection, and 2 details torment the eye: the little fins on the sides (very cool) and the forced-air intake system (in the shape of a crumb tray, less cool). Like the Hayabusa, the ZX-12R isn't a circuit beast.
All in all, a technology-packed motorcycle that requires physical investment to be ridden at a good pace.

DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE STARTER RELAY IS ON THE ZX12? Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
In view of ľengine and its handling (not really made for the circuit and sequence of curves) I do not see ľintéret to change your gear ratios. I'm a mechanic and can tell you that if engineers have put these ratios is not for prunes
PS as written in the comments I also own a 2001 Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
Motorcycle for enthusiasts and connoisseurs
It's my 4th 12r in 13 years and I'm still surprised by its efficiency
However, the front axle is heavy and slightly under steered, so leave the original 200 rear for stability (steering)
Rear suspension almost non-existent
Engine trunk full at all revs
Tested on the fuchs dyno at 350km/h and didn't break the bank!

Bought in 2018 with 30000 km moddle 2001 red
I've owned a 1984 Kawa Gpz 750 since 1988
Tested at the 2004 Kawa demo days, compared to my ancestor, I felt like I was driving a 600, a spark that told me this is what you need..
2018 flasch is direct purchase
No regrets except the petrol consumption 10 ltr per 100 at the pump every 150 km
A beast of pleasure a stabillite rail even at 200 and more rear brake non-existent and moreover useless given the power of front brakes
A must try

Now let our wives be reassured, she's so expensive to maintain that we can't take on a mistress, we have no more money to give her a present after the beast's overhaul Rating : 5/5 Respond to Franck 95
I've just read a lot of comments about this legendary lady. As the proud owner of one myself, I can tell you that this is an exceptional machine, and that's putting it mildly! It's true that this machine is the best of the best, in terms of looks, performance, handling (given its large size), acceleration and a thousand other qualities! But then, it all depends on who's driving it!
It's true that it's not a scooter, or one that flirts with 300 km/h! Not for everyone!
Like all motorcycles, it can be expensive, depending on how it's used
I put over 10,000kms on my last set of tires, which did indeed look more like slicks
It's up to you to be reasonable !!!! Those who aren't, go to hell !!!!
I'm just sorry that Kawa didn't take advantage of this machine's reputation to make new developments, because I think they would have made a lot of people happy and a lot of money !!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Lobarteam73
I'll tell you that it takes a little bit to get used to it, not like a sports bike
Sincerely Rating : 5/5 Respond to Simzx12
it's a fabulous bike and you never get tired of it. A phenomenal performer, it's full. Unfortunately, I have to sell it, because at 60 years old, you have to look for something wiser. It's for sale and it's in great condition, year 2003, 44,000 kms Rating : 5/5 Respond to mike
