presentation of the KLV 1000 2005
A surprise! A big road trail bike arrives in the Kawasaki range. A wise move. The segment is buoyant, and it fills a gap for the manufacturer. A big V-twin in an aluminum perimeter frame. A nice touch. Lots of torque, plenty of luggage-carrying options, a big fuel tank. Very nice. And what does it look like?
There are no surprises to be had with this machine, and we can therefore expect the same behavior and the same strength as the big Smurf. Its 98 hp set the tone, but it's the muscular 10.3 mkg of torque that will provide an appreciable trunk space. We therefore expect the KLV 1000 to be a trail-GT that's good all round, in terms of comfort, efficiency, roadholding and enjoyment; without being the segment benchmark, which it isn't aiming to be. With an aggressive price tag, the Kawa will try to make up for its lack of originality and identity.
