presentation of the 125 ELIMINATOR 2008
kawasaki doesn't have a profusion of 125 models in its road catalog, unlike the other big Japanese manufacturers. The Eliminator is its only 1/8th-litre custom. A presumptuous name for a nicely designed machine that plays differently on the chessboard laid out by Honda and Yamaha. No twin mover, but an efficient single that puts the bike at ease everywhere. Passing power is good, braking is adequate, and handling is satisfactory. The lack of manoeuvrability and the rather high price tag overshadow it a little, but the Kawa fares rather well in all respects.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 14 reviews
I've ridden about 10,000 km on it, and it's a real pleasure to ride.
I’ve owned four utility vehicles and 125cc scooters over the past 25 years, and I think this is the first one I’ve truly enjoyed riding.
It’s sturdy and fuel-efficient (I can ride 350 km without even hitting the reserve).
It’s more maneuverable than it looks if you know how to ride a bit (keep your eyes up and your knees tucked in); it handles well in turns and at roundabouts.
My tires are old, so it’s less stable in the rain.
As mentioned in the listing, the engine is responsive, which means that even at idle it accelerates easily—no need to constantly shift gears—and that’s great, especially since it produces a nice sound worthy of a motorcycle.
As for comfort, I’m over 1.80 m tall and weigh 90 kg. The brake pedal and gear selector can be adjusted to sit right under your feet—something I’ve never seen on a 125cc bike before.
I can ride for two hours and still feel as fresh as a daisy.
For riding with a passenger, the rear seat is comfortable and the sissy bar provides a sense of security. As mentioned in a previous review, anything over 140 kg or 160 kg starts to be a problem.
Obviously, on hills, the speed drops with a passenger, but it holds up well.
It’s my slowest 125 (and yet my favorite); I can rarely go above 90/100, and at 110 it vibrates and you can feel it reaching its limits.
Otherwise, on the road, it doesn’t let me down—I’m never getting tailgated.
The speed on the speedometer is almost accurate (compared to several GPS units).
In terms of looks, it’s a success. A custom bike that’s managed to stay true to its 125 roots—no unnecessary frills or “look how big my bike is” plastic parts. And yet I feel like a real biker when I’m riding this one—a nice sound when starting up, perfectly respectable speed and acceleration, and a riding position that’s either upright or laid-back, depending on your preference.
The windshield is certainly nice once the temperature drops, but in the summer I take it off to feel the freedom. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Hispan45
I'm a little late answering this question, but I can comfortably carry up to 150 kg for two people. Beyond that, it becomes much less enjoyable—it's just a matter of doing someone a favor for a few kilometers. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
The only small fault is its heaviness when cornering, but it's a custom and the position doesn't make it easy to go round! Rating : 4/5 Respond to jeff
A very easy motorcycle, aesthetically successful, discreet, and of great build quality.
I had a lot of fun with my purchase. Performance is limited, but for that I have something else.
Bonne route à tous Rating : 5/5 Respond to mimi
fuel consumption is ridiculous (around 3l/100)
the rear shock absorbers are a little dry but effective anyway, they are adjustable in hardness
Rating : 5/5 Respond to dreamer65p
It's reliable, very frugal (3l/100), not too flashy and the comfort is royal
I ride at 105/110, but this bike doesn't slow down too much on hills or in duets
In fact, it's perfect for two-up riding, being the first 125 to give me complete satisfaction in this respect
It's better than the Shadow, which only comes into its own after 9500 rpm (expensive to maintain), more fuel-efficient and comfortable than the Intruder (riders don't ride 125s), and more reassuring for the after-sales service than the Korean models
