presentation of the Z 1000 SX 2018
like a pair of sneakers, the Z 1000 SX brilliantly combines two opposing virtues: comfort and a sporty stride. As a result, it has made its mark on the sport-gt market, helping even the most indecisive to find the right shoe for them. Forget bulbs. It's now adorned with sparkling LEDs, underlining the sportiness of its new silhouette. Its athletic line is tangented at several points for added comfort. In short, it's even sportier and even more comfortable.
In use, the SX is halfway between the former GTR 1400 and its ZX-10R sibling, but in terms of style, it has clearly chosen its camp. It has adopted racing fashion, and is dressed in a trendy Ninja dress. Her features are streamlined and ultra-piercing. Not aggressive, but downright belligerent. Its bow takes on the appearance of arrows, sharpened by a host of reliefs that exacerbate its razor-sharp gaze. Enough to blunt the desires of even the most timid... Kawasaki has chosen to radicalize its range, as demonstrated by the adoption of the Ninja 650 name by its ER6-F roadster.

fortunately , the boiling engine is as pleasant as ever! Power remains the same: 142 hp. It's as sporty as ever, but a little less rough. They've been polished by injection tuning. Mechanically, there have been no major changes to either the chassis or the engine. In any case, this mill was already at the top of its game, and the chassis was as incisive and precise as you could wish, free of any reproach. Sporty peripherals include a large inverted fork and well-proportioned radial brakes.
that said, there's one element that really changes the game. It comes directly from the ZX-10R. Underneath, it's not new legs, but the latest generation of nerve endings, more precisely a Bosch inertial unit. While for the Kawa fighter jet, this allows you to shoot down the competition between two chicanes, for the SX, this paraphernalia enhances safety and stability. Through traction control (KTRC) and supersport anti-lock braking (KIBS), the "cornering management" system (KCMF) monitors, coordinates and modulates all engine and chassis parameters.
other refinements enhance on-board comfort. These include the arrival of more ergonomic passenger wrist straps, adapted from the outset to stow suitcases (on the previous generation, they had to be drilled), as well as a shock absorber that's a hair more flexible. Finally, the SX is equipped with a more sophisticated, reorganized LCD instrument panel. A gear indicator is standard.

I've just acquired this little gem (2019 model) and I have to admit that the beast is impressive. Very pleasant to drive, a style that suits me perfectly, a very useful on-board technology. The only downside at the moment is fuel consumption and especially fuel tank capacity, which is a shame for a tourer. Otherwise, I validate my purchase at 200% Rating : 4/5 Respond to skyzo971
comfortable and very pleasant to ride I am delighted with this purchase. Rating : 5/5 Respond to dom tom
i'd have gladly paid a few hundred euros more for electric windshield adjustment. But this perfect option doesn't exist...
unbeatable value for money Rating : 5/5 Respond to lomax
However, I'm going to be wise and wait for the warm weather to arrive for delivery... My good old GSX-750F (200) will be with me until the end of winter
Don't fall for it, don't fall for it! Rating : 5/5 Respond to MCD
Blame it on the sporty trail?
Whatever the case, it's a great bike, Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde... whether you're a cutter or a racer, whatever your style or level of riding, you'll enjoy it as much as I do, despite my 1.69 m height Rating : 4/5 Respond to phil sx77

A little too manga for this Z 1000 SX, but in black, it could do ...

I have the 2014 version in 106 hp version. I am delighted with this bike. It has an engine that is present at all times. It starts again on the 6 at 2000 rpm without a hitch. And then it unleashes at 7000 rpm. A real fury. For me, nothing but good. And I'm going to be the proud owner of the 2017 version tomorrow (in black). Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
