Naked

like a pair of sneakers, the Z 1000 SX brilliantly combines two opposing virtues: comfort and a sporty stride. As a result, it has made its mark on the sport-gt market, helping even the most indecisive to find the right shoe for them. Forget bulbs. It's now adorned with sparkling LEDs, underlining the sportiness of its new silhouette. Its athletic line is tangented at several points for added comfort. In short, it's even sportier and even more comfortable.

In use, the SX is halfway between the former GTR 1400 and its ZX-10R sibling, but in terms of style, it has clearly chosen its camp. It has adopted racing fashion, and is dressed in a trendy Ninja dress. Her features are streamlined and ultra-piercing. Not aggressive, but downright belligerent. Its bow takes on the appearance of arrows, sharpened by a host of reliefs that exacerbate its razor-sharp gaze. Enough to blunt the desires of even the most timid... Kawasaki has chosen to radicalize its range, as demonstrated by the adoption of the Ninja 650 name by its ER6-F roadster.

Kawasaki Z 1000 SX 2018 with age, it has nonetheless matured. Firstly, because she's got rid of those nasty acne-like growths that used to act as indicators, but also because these clothes offer better protection and comfort than before. This is made possible by a seat that's 3mm longer and thicker, a bubble that's 15mm higher, and fairings that are 28mm wider. So she dons a pretty apron, ready to put the kettle on and carve out some porky trajectories.

fortunately , the boiling engine is as pleasant as ever! Power remains the same: 142 hp. It's as sporty as ever, but a little less rough. They've been polished by injection tuning. Mechanically, there have been no major changes to either the chassis or the engine. In any case, this mill was already at the top of its game, and the chassis was as incisive and precise as you could wish, free of any reproach. Sporty peripherals include a large inverted fork and well-proportioned radial brakes.

that said, there's one element that really changes the game. It comes directly from the ZX-10R. Underneath, it's not new legs, but the latest generation of nerve endings, more precisely a Bosch inertial unit. While for the Kawa fighter jet, this allows you to shoot down the competition between two chicanes, for the SX, this paraphernalia enhances safety and stability. Through traction control (KTRC) and supersport anti-lock braking (KIBS), the "cornering management" system (KCMF) monitors, coordinates and modulates all engine and chassis parameters.

other refinements enhance on-board comfort. These include the arrival of more ergonomic passenger wrist straps, adapted from the outset to stow suitcases (on the previous generation, they had to be drilled), as well as a shock absorber that's a hair more flexible. Finally, the SX is equipped with a more sophisticated, reorganized LCD instrument panel. A gear indicator is standard.

French PODSY Model 2017
I've had the 2017 Z1000SX for 20,000 km, in the Tourer version, and it's a real Swiss Army knife: I've fitted it with heated grips + handguards, and with a slightly higher MRA bubble, it's perfect in all weathers and for all distances. Hyper-safe road handling, power and smoothness at all revs ... a real treat, and I'm not about to change! Rating : 5/5

Hello, I'd like to confirm your comments. Bought new in 2019 and have no regrets. What a pleasure, a nice dealer. Nothing to complain about. Wotan. Rating : 5/5

I sold my zx10r at the beginning of the year for the z1000sx 2019 with the tourer pack + saddle bag and tank bag. I have no regrets about the riding position (less pressure on the arms) and the power, whether you're riding smoothly or sporty, it reacts well and handles like a dream. Very good bike, with the evolution of the 2020 model, which has cruise control and clutchless gearshifting. By the way, very good advice, very good relationship with kawa Nantes. Rating : 5/5

Hello everyone,
I've just acquired this little gem (2019 model) and I have to admit that the beast is impressive. Very pleasant to drive, a style that suits me perfectly, a very useful on-board technology. The only downside at the moment is fuel consumption and especially fuel tank capacity, which is a shame for a tourer. Otherwise, I validate my purchase at 200%

i'm on my 2nd sx.2012 and 2018. what a pleasure!!! what qualities for a small frame (1.65m).a small downside though; the dashboard a tad illegible for my retired eyes. Rating : 5/5
i love it, it's my second and I'm ready to buy the new version because it's a great bike. Rating : 4/5

all that's missing is better windscreen protection for taller riders (1m85), and an easy-to-read speedometer. Everything else is top-notch: light, maneuverable, lively, velvety or furious engine, no muffled sounds or sensations, real saddle (gel)-suspension comfort, not bouncy, ridiculous fuel consumption.
i'd have gladly paid a few hundred euros more for electric windshield adjustment. But this perfect option doesn't exist...
unbeatable value for money

Ordered this Friday, also in matte silver... this color is surprising, I'm really not used to seeing it at Kawa, and it dresses up this jewel perfectly

However, I'm going to be wise and wait for the warm weather to arrive for delivery... My good old GSX-750F (200) will be with me until the end of winter

Don't fall for it, don't fall for it!

2018 model in matte silver. Bubble replaced by a racing puig, much more in keeping with the spirit of the lines and better protection. The engine is still being run in, so it's hard to judge, but you can already feel that it's supple and pulls hard, even below 5,000 rpm. Perfect stance, just the right amount of pressure to feel the behavior. Chassis turns like a rock. Full-LED lighting, very effective indeed. The only drawback is the chain's poor accessibility for cleaning/lubricating.

As a fan of the 4-cylinder, I found all the ingredients of this engine here, and despite the euro4 standard, the engine retains its joie de vivre ....... The suitcases harmonize well and in no way hinder the machine's behavior ....... Conclusive test drive and now looking forward to Christmas delivery..... Rating : 5/5

I can confirm that GT sports are being shunned by the market. Surprising, given the versatility of a Z1000sx
Blame it on the sporty trail?
Whatever the case, it's a great bike, Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde... whether you're a cutter or a racer, whatever your style or level of riding, you'll enjoy it as much as I do, despite my 1.69 m height

Hi Bod66
I have the 2014 version in 106 hp version. I am delighted with this bike. It has an engine that is present at all times. It starts again on the 6 at 2000 rpm without a hitch. And then it unleashes at 7000 rpm. A real fury. For me, nothing but good. And I'm going to be the proud owner of the 2017 version tomorrow (in black).
