presentation of the VERSYS 1000 SE Grand Tourer 2020
With its new Versys 1000 SE, Kawasaki has taken the maxi-trail-GT concept far enough that it no longer needs a large tourer in its range. In fact, the Versys SE is a trail bike in name and riding position only. In every other way, it exudes travel almost as much as an ex-GTR. Big 4-cylinder engine, big bodywork, big equipment, big price tag, big skills.
in its most complete execution, the Kawasaki can pretend to go far beyond a simple staycation. Like the Versys 1000 std, and since the first generation of this machine, the SE reaches the firmament with the Grand Tourer package. It's a cocktail of well-known features, applied to provide the abundance... or rather welcome the abundance that befits a journey of renown. The big "trail" benefits from 103 liters of luggage space, including 47 liters in the top-case and 28 litres in each of the suitcases. Matching the body color, the luggage compartments are fitted with key-operated locks. This is always more practical than carrying around a mismatched set of keys.
A set of bags, each fitted to its own container, provide better shelter for your belongings and allow you to prepare them according to the space available.
the SE comes standard with handguards, high bubble, semi-active suspension, TFT instrument panel, cruise control, traction control, etc, etc, etc....(see dedicated page). The long-haul package also includes a pair of additional headlamps, adhesive tank protectors, a 12V socket and engine casing protection pads. All that's left to do is fit a GPS or ask the passenger to consult a map.
with the 1000 Versys SE Grand Tourer, adventure forgets all about off-road, and opens up the miles on asphalt. Appreciate distances with a straight back, and look ahead to what will soon be behind you. Kawasaki also thinks of those who are much more in a hurry, with pressurized travel under the ardor of the H2 SX SE+ Tourer.
