presentation of the 650 VULCAN S Tourer 2022
Like all the others, Kawasaki has drastically downsized its custom business... in Europe. In fact, there's only one left, the 650 Vulcan S. But it can be enjoyed in different ways: normal or touring.
Kawa knows all about traveling light. VNs of all sizes have always benefited from a Tourer appearance, in order to satisfy their mission. The little Vulcan takes up the torch and the codes.
Custom, yes, but with a roadster temperament. Logical, since the chassis and powertrain are based on the ex-ER-6n. The result is a slightly enthusiastic ride that's now free to explore the world of weekend cruising. By becoming a Tourer, the Vulcan 650 S has taken on the right equipment for riding under cover, taking the missus along and sleeping under the stars.
On the front, a large, arm-length windscreen provides protection, and can be removed in a matter of moments if required to restore the purity of its lines. A small sissy-bar supports the passenger's back. As for luggage, there's plenty of room in the leather suitcases. Like the windshield, they can be removed easily and without tools. But take it easy on the luggage: only 2.2 kilos per pannier, and they don't lock.
With these few accessories, the custom Kawasaki takes on a Tourer look. Form will be used more than function, but the little touch is there.
