A gray Kove 800 X Pro motorcycle

presentation of the 800X Pro 2026

Kove has already made some improvements to its 800X Pro. The arrival of a ride-by-wire accelerator promises greater flexibility and better throttle response. Cruise control has been added, along with two additional riding modes and an up/down shifter. All of which makes this trail bike even more appealing.

If you're looking for a trail bike with good power but not too much— around 100 horsepower—that's ready to go anywhere and isn't too heavy, there's a wide range of choices, with different types of engines and manufacturers.
But if you want to stay within the $10,000 range to meet these criteria, there's not much left... Except for Chinese bikes. And if you also want to stay under 200 kilos...
There's pretty much only one that ticks all the boxes: the Kove 800X Pro.

Simple looks for serious motivation

It may bear a slight resemblance to the Africa Twin, but its strange look gives it a little personality that sets it apart. With a certain confidence, this mid-size trail bike doesn't rely on delicate charm or sophisticated styling. It has an aura of an all-terrain rider, ready for work and exploration. Jacket in the closet and tools in hand.

The Kove makes its intentions clear: 275 mm of ground clearance, 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels, a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally SRT tires, and fully adjustable Kayaba suspension with 240 mm of travel! It's as if the 800X Pro took the KTM 890 Adventure R as its benchmark. Its aluminum engine guard and side protection bars add a dash of confidence, while the power-to-weight ratio promises to be a pleasant surprise.Kove 800X ProThis 800cc trail bike weighs in at 190 kg! That's downright light for its class. And VERY light for a Chinese motorcycle. Until now, Chinese-made bikes weighed 30 to 40 kg more. Here we have a mid-size adventure bike that is barely heavier than an MT-07 and boasts 95 horsepower. This is perfectly in line with the segment, as is its torque value of 8.2 mkg.
Kove delivers this power via a 799cc twin-cylinder engine, whose internal dimensions and appearance seem very familiar to the 790/890 block found in Katoches bikes. The mechanics offer a number of interesting features, and we hope that it will arrive on the market without the unfinished mapping that randomly affects new Chinese models.

The 800X Pro will offer four riding modes: Sport, Rain, Off-Road, and Eco. The brand stands out for its simplicity in terms of electronics, which we believe is more in line with the spirit of trail riding. Two engine modes, 3-level traction control (Standard, Rain, or Off), and 3-mode ABS that acts either everywhere, on the front wheel, or not at all; and that's it (except since 2026, when RBW, quickshifter, and cruise control were added). Riders won't have to worry about multiple assistance systems that they often don't know what to do with.
At the same time, the on-board equipment includes two USB ports, a large 7-inch vertical TFT screen with connectivity (optional), and full LED lighting with an automatic brightness adjustment system depending on external conditions.

Discoveries at the handlebars

With a 19-liter tank, you can cover some serious distance. Then, during breaks, riders can chat among themselves and discuss the bike's equipment. While some names inspire confidence (Bosch injection, Kayaba suspension, Pirelli tires), others need to be assessed on the spot (FastAce steering damper, Akron rims, Taisko brakes, etc.).
The brakes seem up to the task, with 310 mm discs gripped by 4-piston radial calipers. To be discovered.

Une moto Kove 800 X Pro soulevant des gerbes d'eau en roulant dans une flaque d'eau

The Kove 800X Pro is the lightest in its segment and clearly designed for off-roading—with one inevitable "drawback." The seat is high, requiring good flexibility or long legs to reach its 865 mm height (adjustable to 875 mm). A pure enduro bike would be worse, but getting on it is still a bit of a workout.
It's a shame that the rear frame isn't removable, and hand guards should be standard. Given the price, this last point is hardly acceptable. You'll think about it with your riding buddies in the evening before going to bed, as the luggage rack allows you to carry sausages and licorice sticks.

Kove is going to get rock lovers talking with a double-impact catalog offering. A 450 with rallying in its sights or the 800X pro for adventure on the trails—for a base price just under €10,000. The T7 is going to be left out in the cold.

Happy Trail
French Frank Model 2025
It reminds me of a Dominator with a big engine and some electronics—but prettier. I love it! A real trail bike! I’ve test-ridden it twice—it’s my next bike!
I was so impressed by how accessible it felt at my height of 5’7”, so I measured the seat height: 843 mm, measured twice. That makes me doubt the 240 mm travel—I’d say more like 210, 220 at most. But that works perfectly for me.

This Chinese bike is very tempting!
I've been riding a KTM 1190 for nine years and am still thrilled with its V-twin engine and chassis, but as I get older, I dream of losing a few pounds...
The only downside: Kove dealerships are even rarer than "Orange" ones.

We have the luggage rack for the tent and sausages, but not the fuel consumption. Watch out for the licorice stick, the standard 450 Rally announces more than 6 liters per 100 km... Rating : 3/5
What about a 55kg passenger?
French Pierre-Alain Model 2025
I'm 64 years old. I'm going to spend my retirement in Tunisia. I'm looking for a motorcycle like this one. I'm hesitating with the voge dsx 625. I rode without a license for a while in the 80s on a 125 enduro. I'm going to do my license now A2 yes girl. No worries. The fac 625 is top but I'm afraid that at 2 it lacks power. As I said, I'll be in Tunisia. I'll be riding on roads (including freeways) as well as bad roads + beach + desert sand and stones. I'm going to equip it with soft luggage for the trips. Don't forget that I'll be doing this most of the time with my passenger. I also have the cf moto 700 mt or the cf moto 800 explorer explorer in my sights. But thinking about it makes me hesitate between the voge 625 or the kove 800. Agility, weight, power for 2, handling: very important to me.
Let me know what you think. Am I out of my depth?

Yes, you're way off the mark, because there's an arena that's still being dethroned, called the Ténéré 700. Otherwise, it's surely the second-best trail in your program. Rating : 4/5

Praising whoever you're told to praise—how original!
Having owned both the T7 and now the KOVE 800: 20 kg lighter than the T7 (verified), 20 hp more than the T7, better suspension than the T7 (in my opinion), and €3,400 cheaper than the T7 (price as of 03/2026). The KOVE is top-notch, except for the snobs who look down on Chinese brands.

French Ridgeback Model 2025
I've had a 230 kg KTM 990 Adventure with aluminium hoops and panniers (empty) for 15 years. I've had enduro bikes in Africa: XR 600, Husky 610, XR650, KTM exc 450 and a Yam XT 660 R in Spain.
At 69, I'm no longer going to be doing hardcore enduro and I was thinking of the KTM 690, but the KOVE 800 X Pro, weighing 171 kg dry, like the Yam XT 660 but with twice the power, seems to me the ideal compromise.

4000km with mine in 6 months (model 2024 imported from Europe) and pure happiness: light, agile, quick, with a strong character, I think I've found my five-legged sheep. Equally at home on the ring road or the TÊT, the freeway or the road to the Grandes Alpes, and ready to go far (Iceland? Morocco? Greece?). And if you drop it, you can pick it up again... even several times. When the going gets tough, the low weight makes all the difference. Well-balanced motorcycle, sitting position that suits me (not too high, well "in the bike" - 1m81), and standing position perfect for me. Yes, the engine is snappy, but no jerks felt here. Very reasonable fuel consumption at 4.3l in suburban/off-road light (cool riding). 450 km on a full tank, so you can cruise around without a second thought! Skilful and easy on trail/enduro TET-style programs, and travel (even as a duo). Firm suspensions that wobble a little on small shocks, but respond well on the road and off-road (so consistent with the program!): I haven't touched them, but by fine-tuning the settings we can certainly further optimize them. Nothing to say about quality, but the engine shoe needs to be changed if you want to tackle the rocks without any qualms. A little electronics, but not too much, and well thought-out. In my opinion, screws and bolts should not be over-torqued, but they haven't failed so far. Nice screen, too bad you can't (currently?) simply mirror your favorite apps to navigate. If I had to have only one bike, both versatile and very good in many areas, I'd keep my KOVE 800X Pro: for me, it's back to the very spirit of trail riding. For those aiming for more exclusive off-road use, the Rally should be a formidable weapon, with 20kg less weight (but also less versatility...). If someone had told me just 2 years ago that I'd be buying a Chinese bike, I'd have laughed... but this generation of newcomers marks, in my opinion, a turning point in the sector. And the past is full of these "new entrants" whom nobody believed in, and who revolutionized the market (to our great delight). I'm (perhaps) taking a risk on reliability, but I look after my frames and maintain them myself, so I take responsibility and keep an eye on them. So far, so good... the banana I get every day when I turn the ignition key :-) Rating : 5/5
