To find a trail bike with good power but not too much— around 100 horsepower—that's ready to go anywhere and isn't too heavy, there's a wide range of choices, with different types of engines and manufacturers.
But if you want to stay within the $10,000 range to meet these criteria, there's not much left... Except for Chinese brands. And if you also want to stay under 200 kg...
There's pretty much only one that ticks all the boxes: the Kove 800X Pro.
Simple looks for serious motivation
It may bear a slight resemblance to the Africa Twin, but its strange look gives it a little personality that sets it apart. With a certain confidence, this mid-size trail bike doesn't rely on delicate charm or sophisticated styling. It has an aura of an all-terrain rider, ready for work and exploration. Jacket in the closet and tools in hand.
The Kove makes its intentions clear: 275 mm of ground clearance, 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels, a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally SRT tires, and fully adjustable Kayaba suspension with 240 mm of travel! It's as if the 800X Pro took the KTM 890 Adventure R as its benchmark. Its aluminum engine guard and side protection bars add a touch of confidence, while the power-to-weight ratio promises to be a pleasant surprise.
This 800cc trail bike weighs in at 190 kg, which is downright light for its class and VERY light for a Chinese motorcycle. Until now, Chinese-made bikes weighed 30 to 40 kg more. Here we have a mid-size adventure bike that is barely heavier than an MT-07 and boasts 95 horsepower. This is perfectly in line with the segment, as is its torque value of 8.2 mkg.
Kove delivers this power via a 799cc twin-cylinder engine, whose internal dimensions and appearance seem very familiar to the 790/890 block found in Katoches bikes. The mechanics offer a number of interesting features, and we hope that it will hit the market without the unfinished mapping that randomly plagues new Chinese models.

The 800X Pro will offer two riding modes, Sport or Eco. The brand stands out for its simplicity in terms of electronics, which we believe is more in line with the spirit of trail riding. Two engine modes, 3-level traction control (Standard, Rain, or Off), and 3-mode ABS that acts either everywhere, on the front wheel, or not at all; and that's it. The rider won't have to worry about multiple assistance systems that are often difficult to know how to use.
At the same time, the on-board equipment includes two USB ports, a large 7-inch vertical TFT screen with connectivity (optional), and full LED lighting with an automatic brightness adjustment system depending on external conditions.
Discoveries at the handlebars
With 19 liters in the tank, you can cover some serious ground. Then, during breaks, riders can chat among themselves and discuss the bike's equipment. While some names inspire confidence (Bosch injection, Kayaba suspension, Pirelli tires), others need to be assessed on the spot (FastAce steering damper, Akron rims, Taisko brakes, etc.).
The brakes seem up to the task, with 310 mm discs gripped by 4-piston radial calipers. To be discovered.
The Kove 800X Pro is the lightest in its segment and clearly designed for off-roading—with one inevitable "drawback." The seat is high, requiring good flexibility or long legs to reach its 865 mm height (adjustable to 875 mm). A pure enduro bike would be worse, but getting on it is still a bit of a workout.
It's a shame that the rear frame isn't removable, and hand guards should be standard. Given the price, this last point is hardly acceptable. You'll think about it with your riding buddies in the evening before going to bed, as the luggage rack allows you to carry sausages and licorice sticks.

Kove is going to get rock lovers talking with a double-impact catalog offering. A 450 with rallying in its sights or the 800X pro for adventure on the trails—for a starting price just under €10,000, reduced to under €9,000 by the end of 2025. The T7 is going to be left behind.

Having owned both the T7 and now the KOVE 800: 20 kg lighter than the T7 (verified), 20 hp more than the T7, better suspension than the T7 (in my opinion), and €3,400 cheaper than the T7 (price as of 03/2026).
