Motorcycle specifications KTM1290 Super Adventure S 2019 The Maxi-Trail 2.0!

Despite the switch to Euro4 standards, the 1290 Super Adventure's big twin has lost none of its fire, still developing 160 hp and 140 nm. Still equipped with Ride by wire, traction control, cruise control and combined inertial ABS, the Super Adventure is available this year in three distinct versions: T, S and R.

While the T version retains the aesthetics of the previous generation, the S version takes up the identity shift initiated by the 1290 Super Duke, from which it also inherits the engine (from the Super Duke GT, to be more precise). The front fascia has evolved, with twin full-LED headlamps separated by a central aluminum support that doubles as a radiator! The whole is framed by two hockey-stick-shaped LED strips that act as daytime running lights and give the machine a real personality. The new headlamp, which is decidedly well thought-out, also incorporates the adaptive cornering light previously located on the sides of the fairing. These too are different. Smaller, they are adorned with much less discreet air intakes.

Tailored for dynamic road trips, this Super Adventure S sees its seat height lowered to 850 mm, and its fuel tank reduced from 30 to 23 liters for a less clumsy look. The frame also contributes to the weight reduction, weighing just 9.8kg. On the scales, the Katoche claims 215 kg dry weight.

The Super Adventure S version is also equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT color display, a waterproof pocket with USB port and the 'Race On' system, which lets you start the bike with the key in your pocket. The big commodo on its predecessor has been upgraded with a protective flap and an integrated lighting system. As for the rest, the S version also inherits all KTM's cutting-edge technologies: Ride by wire, multi-level traction control, combined ABS with angle sensor, cruise control, HTC hill-start assist, adaptive lighting, shifter, semi-active WP suspension... A true technological showcase!
