presentation of the 690 RALLY REPLICA 2009
dakar - an African city for some, an adventure for others. The scent of warm sand, great dunes traveling across the desert, landscapes of shivering depth - and in the midst of this solitude, clouds of dust are blown away by the passing Dakar rally machines. KTM has been the master here for many years, and has no objection to everyone enjoying its adventurous machines.
from the competition bike, KTM launches a new 690 Rally Replica for 2007. A carbon copy of the Dakar machine, this great adventurer is already ready for the race. What's most remarkable is not the deco, replicated by the official KTM-Repsol team, but the powertrain. The Rally is equipped with the new, latest-generation LC4 single, which will later power the Duke 3. This engine has been developed and tested directly during raids in Africa, as was the case for the LC8 powering the 990 Adventure and Superduke (to name but a few). The new engine develops over 70 hp (a prodigious output for a single) and has been trimmed by 3 kg.
other modifications - chassis, ergonomics, gearbox, seat - have reduced the overall weight by 8 kg compared to the old 660 Rally Replica. It has been available to rally specialists since September 2007. A radical machine for rally-raid fans, it will allow the greatest number of people to dream, and initiates to set off on an adventure.
