presentation of the 125 STING DUKE 1999
the supermotard is on a roll. KTM, with the very interesting Duke 620 in its catalog, is offering a 125 version. Better known as the Sting, this responsive 125 is also known as the Duke. It has the same aggressive look, big tires and a generous front brake disc. The Yamaha-sourced single-cylinder benefits from the careful attention of Austrian engineers. It delivers its maximum legal power (15 hp) with near-ideal efficiency. It has all the sporty, racy character of its big sister. Down low, it's supple. At the top, it's very pleasant, and virile in its unbridled version. The chassis, designed for more watts, can handle any situation, as can the suspension. Spin, throttle, lean, play... it's glued to the road. Watch out for the front brake. It's so powerful that if you hit it too hard, it'll bury the wheel and fork in the ground. You need to learn how to control it. It's suitable for urban use, but it's primarily a sport-oriented model.
