presentation of the 250 EXC 2012

whether in extreme enduro or in the E2 World Championship, the 250 EXC is truly a winner's machine. The Erzberg (production bike) winner, designed to achieve the ideal balance between weight and power curves, is the obvious opponent, the bike to beat, when things get serious. Even higher performance, a completely redesigned chassis with a new frame: even more points for the lightest enduro in the E2 category. Proof in two (wheels) that KTM's two-strokes will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

new intake pipe

The 250 EXC's new airbox and flow-optimized intake flange between airbox and carburetor now ensure better engine breathing. As a result, the most powerful two-stroke in its class revs even better, delivering more power across the entire rev range.

adjustable exhaust control and ignition curve

The response of the torquey two-stroke can be adjusted in three positions by changing the springs of the TVC exhaust control. What's more, the 250 EXC rider can choose between two different ignition curves thanks to an optional connector or switch.

new frame

The completely redesigned frame in top-grade chromium-molybdenum steel boasts even greater lateral torsional rigidity. It also provides even better shock absorption, further enhancing the 250 EXC's handling and comfort.

new swingarm, new PDS, new tuning

Lighter, the 250 EXC's new forged aluminum swingarm houses the shock absorber even more centrally, for better load distribution. The new PDS suspension, 7 mm (0.28 in) longer, with High/Lowspeed rebound and compression damping adjustment, is mounted flatter, offering greater progression.

retuned telescopic fork

The 250 EXC features the latest WP upside-down fork, with a wider adjustment range and a new focus. The sensitive response and excellent damping of the open cartridge fork with 48 mm (1.89 in) tubes contribute to the 250 EXC's extraordinary handling and precision.

new wheels

The new wheels could hardly be lighter and more stable, with their machined hubs, Excel rims, zinc/nickel-coated spokes and aluminum nipples. This reduces unsprung and gyroscopic mass, contributing to the 250 EXC's extraordinary manoeuvrability.

bodywork

The 250 EXC's new bodywork, with its slim seat and spoiler lines and excellent contact points, further perfects its ergonomics, making it even easier and more precise to ride. The longer mudguard protects the rider even more effectively against stone chips.
