new airbox
The new airbox on the 2013 model 300 EXC offers maximum airflow with minimum dust or splash. The Twin-Air filter can be replaced in around 15 seconds, without tools. Absolutely "READY TO RACE".
new cylinder head
kTM 2-stroke technology develops and refines year on year. The new cylinder head provides smoother, more uniform responsiveness. At the same time, fuel injection adapted to the new cylinder head further improves running qualities. Power-Valve exhaust valve, 6-speed gearbox and electric starter are standard on all KTM 250 / 300 cm3 models. From 2013 also on the KTM 300 EXC!
additional electric starter
For 2013, the KTM 300 EXC is equipped with both a kick and an electric starter. This makes it easier to start your enduro, whatever the conditions. Thanks to the patented longitudinal mounting above the ignition, the compact starter is optimally protected, offering a decisive advantage off-road.
adjustable ignition curve
By simply plugging or unplugging a connector, from 2013 onwards you can choose between the standard ignition curve and a softer variant. Those looking for even greater convenience can opt for a switch from the PowerParts range on their KTM 300 EXC.
consistent power delivery
Power to spare at low revs, with good dosing throughout the rev range. Different springs allow individual adaptation of the exhaust control. This means everyone can adapt the power of their EXC to their needs (with the option of choosing one of two ignition curves) from "soft" to "aggressive" in a matter of seconds. The new valve gearbox on the 300 EXC 2013 clearly improves throttle response, while delivering more even power delivery.
individual suspension tuning
The 2013 KTM 300 EXC features individual suspension tuning perfectly matched to its weight and engine. at the rear, a PDS shock absorber with direct connection above the swingarm. The fork's wide rebound range and Highspeed and Lowspeed compression damping come as standard with KTM.
high-quality wheels
High-quality CNC-machined hubs are standard on all KTM wheels. The new black spoke coating improves corrosion resistance and centers the new, extremely strong GIANT 7050 aluminum rims. New MAXXIS FIM tires specially designed for KTM provide excellent grip, precise handling and long life.
styling
The 2013 version of the 300 EXC features an ergonomically slim fairing with excellent points of contact between rider and machine. It offers unlimited freedom of movement. Redesigned graphics give the 2013 models a more modern look.

The 2013 models feature tapered handlebars made from extremely strong Neken aluminum. For the 2013 model year, new two-component grips with KTM logo ensure excellent feel and better grip.
