presentation of the 150 SX 2013
250-like power and 125-like handling. The perfect all-rounder in the 2-stroke segment, with a new fairing and much-improved suspension for even more bite. There's no room for error.
cooling
the proven, integrated cooling system runs from the cylinder head via the frame triangle to the new, even more robust aluminum WP Radiator. Fewer hoses make the radiator easier to install and improve airflow under the tank of the 2013 KTM 150 SX.
air box
the new design of the airbox ensures optimum protection of the filter from dirt, and maximum airflow for enhanced performance. The new, much stiffer intake nozzles (between filter and throttle body) exert a decisive influence. The new airbox covers are manufactured using a two-component process, with new "Inmould" graphics. Fastening and mounting of the left-hand cover have been further improved. This makes replacement of the Twin-Air filter even easier, taking just a few seconds. And of course, no tools are required - a unique feature in the motocross world. What's more, an additional tab allows the cover to be secured with an optional screw.
frame
the frame's modern design in lightweight, high-strength chromium-molybdenum profiled tubing ensures the perfect blend of longitudinal and torsional rigidity. This not only ensures good handling and precise steering, but also excellent ride stability. Optimization also focused on the engine-head mountings and their connection to the frame. The frames of this 2013 model year have been given a new color and remain a benchmark in terms of weight and stability.
shock absorber
the WP Monoshock shock absorber has been further improved for the 2013 KTM 150 SX and, together with the KTM steering system, is now distinguished by a new, more powerful shock absorber.the result is optimized damping, improved traction and even greater reserves against shocks. Of course, the rebound/compression damping (High and Low speed) can be adjusted in a jiffy to suit the rider and the track.
swingarm
the cast aluminum swingarm was designed using state-of-the-art calculation and simulation software; the design and wall thickness ensure minimum weight for optimum strength and sufficient flex. For the 2013 models, engineers have modified the design of the swingarm rear end, with a view to fitting a stronger rear wheel axle (25 mm instead of 20 mm) for improved roadholding. Weight has also been reduced by over 100g by modifying the steering pins, cups and nuts.
handlebars
as of 2013, all SX models feature the new Renthal Fatbar 827 handlebars, whose shape has been adapted to the requirements of our pro riders (like 996 Bend). As with the factory bikes, these handlebars are now black anodized, and the large Renthal Crash Pad foam protects the rider. We've also developed new handlebars manufactured by specialist Domino using a two-component process. Four-position handlebar adjustment remains standard on all KTM models.
brakes
brembo brakes are standard on KTM motocross bikes, with lightweight Wave disc brakes for optimum performance in terms of dosability and braking. On the rear wheel, the caliper bracket of the 2013 KTM 150 SX has been adapted to the larger diameter of the axle.

I bought my 150 knowing that it was going to be a physical and mechanical challenge.
As for the mechanics and the durability of the parts, I'm still amazed, except for the consumables. I don't ride like a grandfather, I use the bike and in the sand. The only small problem is the torque at the bottom, which is very complicated, you have to play with the gears and the clutch. To remedy this, you need to add a 13.80 decompression dome and a complete line.
(Without modification, it's already running very hard! )
As for handling, there's nothing to say about its weight, which never ceases to amaze me, and it's incredibly agile for a machine with so much power.
Perfect for those wishing to resume or begin cross-country riding in serious conditions. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Matthieu
I would like to know if the 2013 ktm 150 is a very reliable bike for a beginner
THANK YOU. Rating : 3/5 Respond to olivier
Well, I've never tried this bike, nor this style of bike, so I don't know if I'm in the best position to answer your question, but considering the displacement in this category of bike, I think that this 150 will enable you to get your teeth into it, and much more, on cross-country tracks and circuits ;)
If others can correct me...
Bonne route à toi. Rating : 3/5 Participate in the conversation
