from 1993 to 2025Honda CB 500 - A first-time reference
Introduced in 1993, the CB 500 quickly became an important member of the Honda range. A first big cube that was easy, inexpensive, highly versatile and unbreakable. Whether used for motorcycle schools, on the track with the CB 500 Cup, for cruising, urban riding or as a mini-wreck, it was a bike for every purpose. Nearly 60 horsepower, a twin that did everything it was told to do and a grip of 200 km/h made it a motorcycle to be reckoned with. The second generation, released in 2004, is more plush, but also wiser in style. Directly in the vein of the CB 600 N. It was not as successful as its predecessor. The CB 500 then disappeared from view from 2008 to 2012. It came back in 2013 with a new chassis, a more toned-down design and a less powerful engine, precisely set at 35kW for A2 licenses. This time, however, it's a sibling line-up based on the same model: the CB 500 F roadster, the sporty CBR 500 R and the CB 500 X trail bike. The trio will continue to evolve in small steps, with notable improvements to the chassis in recent years. Its twin-cylinder engine serves as a benchmark for many Chinese copies.
