presentation of the X-Ride 50 2022
Mash's vintage X-Ride trail bike is also available in 50 size. It's enough to make you think you're bigger than you are, since it uses the same styling signature as the 125 and 650. A faux XT look that immediately conveys a taste for the off-road Classic, with side number plates, a long saddle with flanges, an engine cowl and a small luggage rack.
But the 50 X-Ride Classic deceives you, because its primary destination is not the countryside. Its 17-inch wheels and mixed tires make it ideal for urban use. The bike stands out with its aluminum swingarm, fork gussets and dual-outlet exhaust. Too bad the spoked rims aren't gold-plated.
To take the little ones from discovery to escapade, the mini X-Ride relies on its 2.8 hp 4-stroke engine, complemented by a (mere) 4-speed gearbox and dual starting, either electric or kick. On the other hand, the machine is heavy. At 115 kg, it weighs 30 kg more than a Beta or a Rieju. That's no mean feat.

The engine is the eternal 139fmb-b that we see everywhere, but in its fuel-injected variant. Let's start with what goes well with it For your information, my X-Ride has 3000km on the clock The engine is pretty torquey, in the hills, it handles well It consumes nothing It can be electronically unbridled to go from 45kmh to 66kmh And now we're going to start talking about the problems Firstly, my bike has 3000km and the engine is already burning oil (a big joke) The kick teeth are already filed down and of course it's not covered by the warranty (it's only 15€), having to fold back the footrest to be able to kick is stupid Once unbridled, fuel consumption goes up x2, from 950km of range to 400km (it's still very good, but it's worth mentioning) Below 7000 rpm it's like a pillow, but above that it's like a jackhammer, to the point where after 20 minutes I couldn't hold the handlebars at all because of the pain The oil filler cap is just below the exhaust manifold (really impractical) And finally, the worst, the gearbox Several things Firstly, during normal use, you twist the gear selector shaft The selector has an enormous range of movement, so you sometimes find yourself twisting your foot to shift into the next gear Sometimes the gears just won't shift If you want to shift from 1 to 2 between 8000 and 1100 revs, you can feel and hear the gearbox sprockets clattering and the gearbox output sprocket having a huge jolt (it's scary, I feel like I'm breaking the gearbox) There's a gear indicator on the speedometer, sometimes it doesn't display anything (it must be lost), but even funnier, it may not display the right gear, like I know I'm in 2, but it displays that I'm in 3 (it's really rubbish). The neutral gear is unreliable, the number of times I've stopped, put the car in neutral, released the clutch and then stalled because I was in 1. People who say that this engine is reliable are just joking. 3000 km, the bike's fine but the engine's rubbish Rating : 2/5 Respond to Tracky
