presentation of the 125 Seventy 2025

One of Mash's earliest motorcycles is still in the catalog. Not quite the same, as it has progressed in small increments over the years. The late summer of 2024 brings a few modifications: a redesigned speedometer, the addition of a small digital window, a stainless steel pot (except for the black color), an LED headlight and a new seat.

Mash has made its presence felt on the market, first with its low-cost 125s, then with a gradual move upmarket. The Beaune-based brand revisits its youthful past. The first chapter was written with the Seventy - the initiator allowed the range to emancipate itself, until its descendants forgot about it....

The 125 Seventy has shed its American oval spectator face for a more rebellious, darker profile, more inclined to lurk in hangars. No sausage pot, but an elongated cone. With all this, and handlebars that assert the riding position, the Seventy promises to be more intrepid than the first version.

As for the engine, Mash continues with its old-fashioned mono. Air-cooled, single ACT, 2-valve, 11.1 hp at 9,000 rpm, but with Delphi injection. The powertrain passes Euro5, but loses half a horsepower. Braking is of the combined type, with one disc per wheel - 300 and 220 mm. That's enough for the city, especially since at 127 kilos, the bike isn't very heavy.

The Seventy comes with a low price tag, but one that's taken a beating of late. Gone are the days of under 2,000 euros for a new 125. The price increase is approaching 20%. It won't be as easy as before, as many brands have taken over Mash's recipes. The original spirit remains.

French Model 2025
This isn't a motorcycle review but an advertorial: it promotes a product, it doesn't criticize it. Mash is a so-called French brand, but in reality 100% Chinese. No design office—they simply import existing Chinese machines and rebrand them as Mash (the 750 GT, produced under a Chinese brand, and which, miraculously, appears here or in Europe under the brands Mitt, Jawa, and Mash... Soulless, disposable consumerist motorcycles that, no matter what, always appeal to so-called motorcycle journalists.
Seriously, everything is going to hell...
