Motorcycle specifications MondialMotoV5S 2020 A V5 to shake up the track

Italy has always cultivated a passion for mechanics. Hundreds (thousands?) of motorcycle brands were born here. About ten years ago, a new one quietly joined the census, before coming to prominence today. MondialMoto, from Modena, a two-wheeled craft created by Antonio Mattarollo, a former Ferrari and Mercedes employee. No relation to F.B. Mondial, another Italian brand. But the same vein of performance.

mondialMoto promises to offer a sporty bike with a trippy engine. It's the fulfillment of a fantasy born in the early 2000s. Its Superbike will be powered by a 1000 cm3 V5 engine, exactly the same engine architecture as Honda's prototype RC 211 V, which ushered in the MotoGP era. The successor to the illustrious NSR 500, it gave rise to a strong desire in the racing community to see a CBR with its V5 adapted to competition and even road use.

honda won't do it. But MondialMoto will. Its V5 S will have the world salivating between the vibrators. The block consists of a bank of 3 cylinders at the front and 2 at the rear, with an opening angle of 75.5°. Rated at 200 hp, it can be heard roaring along at up to 13,250 rpm. A few technical details hint at the big time: titanium valves and connecting rods, 50 mm fuel injection, variable intake, cassette gearbox - thrills guaranteed! Italian powertrains are known for being full of character.

the V5 S pushes the envelope a little further with a high-caliber chassis. Let's quickly move on to the design, certainly delicate with its wave-like profile, but a little too inspired by the Benelli 900 Tornado.
We're more interested in the single-sided swingarm, the all-Ohlins electronically-adjustable suspension, the aluminum monocoque frame, the weight of 179 kilos, and the all-radial Brembo brakes with 320 mm discs.

there was a time when you'd be shown a proto or a bike ready to snore on the track and give you goose bumps. Sometimes, caught short by time and with a machine in full development, some people would only show you a mock-up. But at least it was physically there, with volumes, ideas brought to life, a concept ready to touch.......
MondialMoto harangues that they've been working on this V5 for 10 years. But all they can show of their technically exhilarating sports bike is a porridge of computer-generated images. Honestly, guys, a bike that claims to be the heir to the RCV 211 deserves to be communicated with more content, panache and majesty!

especially when the V5 S boasts a spec sheet that'll make your stopwatch overheat. Even more so in its R version, which uses carbon for its frame and rims - for an extra 8,000 euros.

the MondialMoto V5 S and V5 R are scheduled to be unveiled at EICMA 2019 and marketed in 2020. Will they make the grade? The price is, in any case. Interested parties are invited to deposit a 10,000-euro reservation cheque for one, before signing up for the final price of 27,995 or 35,995 euros. Fantasy projects have been flourishing lately..... Will MondialMoto be just another pipe dream, or THE sports car of the next decade?
