presentation of the 1200 CORSARO ZZ 2022

Over the seasons, the Corsaro has evolved, slowly but surely, with its fiery temperament at heart. Italian to the core, Morini's roadster remains the best representative of the renaissance and faith of this small manufacturer. As the ZZ, it has prolonged its existence, brought a number of welcome evolutions, but now faces the axe of Euro5 (its time is running out). The identity remains, but the pleasure is more intense.

Aware of the Corsaro's seductive power, or limited in investment, Morini took no risks with the design of this machine. Rough as nails, with a wicked look, apparent nerves and a bestial appearance, this bike honors the style and essence of the roadster. The overall look remains striking, with just a few elements touched up to make a difference. These include a reworked windscreen with integrated nightlights, a revised headlamp unit (less classy for our taste), a larger front fender and a rear end free of any appendages. Legal requirements are met by a suspension lip attached to the swingarm, as on some MV-Agusta models and the latest MT-09.

Why ZZ? In reference to the Corsarino ZZ of 1965, a little 49 cm3, 59-kilo bike that slammed 100 km/h.
The Corsaro goes far beyond these values. It weighs in at 197 kilos, a classic figure in this segment, and somewhat less than theex-Veloce. Thanks to carbon parts. And its big 1187 cm3 twin delivers almost 140 horsepower. And Italian horsepower, with the exhilaration that shakes your spine. The block has evolved doubly, with a new electronic management system: it passes the new standards, gains 4 hp and almost half a kg. As a bonus, the brand offers an APTC limited-slip clutch

The tubular steel trellis frame continues in service. On the suspension side, the inverted Marzocchi fork and Sachs rear shock absorber are replaced by Mupo units, both fully adjustable. Braking has also undergone some serious changes. Ciao, axial-mount calipers. On the ZZ, we've switched to radially-mounted Brembo M50s, a 16/19 master cylinder, backed up by a Bosch 9.1 ABS that can be disconnected from the handlebars.

Tonic and even more so, the Bialbero engine could find masters and wisdom in the Driving Modes or other co-pilots that are invading the sector... But it doesn't care. There's no mapping for rain, then for mugging, then for city driving. It's up to the driver to manage and appreciate. But the Corsaro ZZ doesn't shy away from technological renewal. In addition to LEDs for all lighting (headlights, indicators, etc.), there's an entirely digital, full-color instrument panel. The handsome 5-inch TFT screen features several display styles. And to plug in the GPS or recharge the smartphone, a 12V socket makes its appearance.

Faced with the competition, the Morini Corsaro 1200 ZZ won't have it any easier than before. To stand out from the crowd, it features 99% Italian manufacturing and parts. It will also offer a high degree of personalization, so that each owner can have HIS own bike, HIS own Morini, far from the more standardized productions. It's also a way of justifying (somewhat) the bike's hefty price tag, which is just as hefty.

Buying a Morini can (re)become more affordable with the ZT version of the Corsaro. Technically identical, it makes the difference by swapping its carbon parts and brushed aluminum tank for ABS plastic components. The nobility suffers, but the price plummets by 4,000 baht.

A quand un réseau de distributeurs ?
French jean Model 2019
I congratulate this Italian manufacturer on this CORSARO 1200 ZZ (2019).

A hand finish is rare these days…

I look forward to traveling to Italy and visiting this human-sized manufacturing plant.
