presentation of the Streetfighter V2 2022

The Ducati Streetfighter clan has been relaunched under the V4 era, with monstrous power. Enough to calm a hypersport, that's for sure. But accessing it requires experience as well as finance.

A little brother is welcome to offer the bottle with fewer degrees in the beverage. Like the Panigale V2 with the V4, and like the old Streetfighter 848 alongside the 1098, a new entry-level fighter is presented to satisfy enthusiasts looking for less madness. This is the Streetfighter V2, perfused with a big twin and proud of its deliciously aggressive plastic.

Unsurprisingly , the V2 faithfully reproduces the features of the V4. The same face, a taut, responsive body, a sporty buttock and the unmistakable single-arm of the lineage. No winglets for this model. It doesn't need them, given its lower power output, and the flanks are much cleaner. They are available as an option. It's less busy, less war machine, more homogeneous. We also had to make a few concessions due to the very different chassis and engine. A Panigale lives underneath, barely modified.

With an L-twin, hammering connecting rods, vanishing desmodromic valve train and pistons as wide as pots, the powertrain still has stories to tell. It's got plenty of watts. Almost the same amount as on the sports car. Only 2 less, in fact, to unleash 153 horsepower at 10,750 rpm. That's a lot of power, especially for the least powerful of the bunch. Torque is also pretty consistent, at over 10 mkg. Choosing the least violent of the SFs is already entering the big leagues. Don't underestimate it.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 2022 a little perspective will give you a different view. Since the way power is measured has changed at Ducati in 2018, the 955 cm3 block delivers more power than the 1098 of another decade. In short, the little Streetfighter is more powerful than the old big one; but with 1.2 mkg less torque. It compensates for this with a shorter gear ratio than the Panigale. Two teeth have been added to the sprocket, for greater acceleration and acceleration.

The bikes from which the SF V2 and V4 are derived are not from the same generation. Their technical foundations are quite different. The youngest benefits from an aluminum monocoque frame supported by the engine (there isn't really a frame; it's more like a big, super-rigid gearbox). The swingarm is 16 mm longer than that of the Panigale, for greater stability. The fork is a Showa 43 mm inverted unit, adjustable in all directions, while the shock absorber is by Sachs. Having the Panigale chassis means taking advantage of the shock absorber's unique lateral kinematics. Right under the calf, with immediate access to adjust it - adjustable in all directions, too.
It's on the damping side that we see one of the few compromises Ducati has made for the Streetfighter: a specific setting for a little extra comfort on the road.

While we're at it, we might as well mention the others. These include the more road-sporty Pirelli Rosso IV tires, and less aggressive brake pads in Brembo M4.32 calipers.
Otherwise, all the rest of the braking is sporty. Four pistons in each monoblock radial caliper bite 320 mm discs. The rear will make do with a 245 mm track, with 2 pistons for action. The weight to be braked is also exactly the same: 200 kilos fully loaded.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 2022 a number divided into around sixty kilos for the engine, 13 for the fuel (17 liters), a little over 4 for the frame, 10 for the rims, and a few hundred grams all over the place for sensors, wires and electronic circuits. Still all from the Panigale V2. Inbred wheels. The Streetfighter features three riding modes (Sport - Road - Rain) underpinned by traction control, ABS Cornering and wheelie control, all supervised by a 6-axis inertial unit. Assistants also include an Up&Down shifter and engine brake control.
All headlights are LEDs, the luminous carnivorous smile is standard, and the color TFT screen displays a big rev counter and a plethora of info in 4.3 inches.

This 955 Streetfighter is a Panigale V2 with handlebars and less fairing. A little more comfort, but no compromises on technical solutions to ensure maximum efficiency.
For 17 grand, it's not particularly affordable either. But that's to be expected: it's in a high-caliber category. The Streetfighter V2 is a serious powerhouse, but not as surreal as the V4, for 3,500 bales less.
The Streetfighter V2 is right in between the demonic brother and the 937 Monster. For those in search of the top step and envious of the most deranged of the family, the Streetfighter is also available in V4 SP.

The big bad roadster
French Model 2022
The logical next step after two MV Agusta 800s and an 848 SF was to switch to a V2. More flexible than a 1098, more comfortable than an MV, a better riding position, and a truly incredible engine! I can confirm that 153 hp is more than enough for the road. You feel comfortable right away. Just make sure you get a standard exhaust system, otherwise it's pure bliss. Rating : 5/5

Toujours au top!
French Model 2022
The years go by and Ducati is still able to produce supercharged machines with unique aesthetics and performance, while complying with Euro and other constraints!
And this one is still affordable!
