presentation of the 1200 CORSARO ZT 2022

Morini has been on the rise again in recent years. Still moribund until recently, the small Italian brand has broadened its range and its mechanical proposals since passing under Chinese flag. Customers can access the Trivolzio coat of arms with the 650 engine, or opt for something with a bit more character. The Corsaro ZZ, a sporty roadster with character, is the figurehead. It is joined in the catalog by this close cousin, designed to broaden the customer base. The ZT makes an effort on price, but hardly on performance.

A T for Touring. No, let's not go that far. But this ZT is more accessible, with a modified fuel tank that makes the rider feel more at home, for a more relaxed riding position. Is this a sign that the virulence of the Italian brand's products is easing? Not at all!

Closely derived from the ZZ, the Corsaro 1200 ZT boasts a logically similar design. With the exception of the front end: the menacing double peep-hole is replaced by a single round headlight, very classic, even with bulbs inside. In this age of full LEDs, this is something to be proud of.
Pots under the saddle are still very much in vogue. The trend has long since faded, yet it's hard to find fault with this Italian exercise.
in front of the handlebars, you'll find a beautiful digital panel serving as a dashboard. Its inclination has been modified to make it easier to read.

Morini 1200 CORSARO ZT 2022So as not to encroach on the ZZ's fiery reputation, this cousin benefits from the same 1187 cm3 twin engine, but with slightly softened engine management. Power output remains unchanged, still spitting out a healthy 139 hp at 8,500 rpm. The chassis is unchanged, with a tubular steel trellis frame, all-round adjustable Mupo suspension and large 4-piston Brembo M50 brake calipers.

In a way, this Corsaro ZT is the successor to the 11 & 1/2. A little nicer, a little less expensive, six kilos lighter but technically very close to the ZZ, this roadster promises to be an exciting way to discover Morini's passion. Confidential distribution is expected, which may give rise to hesitation, but ensures a special cachet.

l'indomptable !
I've already owned about twenty motorcycles, and at 68 years of age (as old a biker as ever!) I've just bought a Corsaro 1200 2022 (euro 4, knock-down price...) It's the most characterful bike I've ever ridden. A formidable engine that lifts your fillings at 4,000 rpm, and I'm still breaking it in... A chassis and braking system that can go back a long way. I can't understand why these bikes aren't more widely known. Of course, it's an old-fashioned bike that requires a certain amount of experience (no assistance apart from ABS), and a limited 13-liter fuel tank, but one that suits me just fine for my short rides. For those who don't know, it's a must-try while models are still available... Rating : 5/5
