presentation of the 1200 BREVA 2008
to boost torque and mid-range availability, the big Breva changes cubic capacity and boosts its transverse-head twin. From 1064, Mandello's block is now 1151 cm3. It gains over 9 horsepower and over 10 mkg of torque, but doesn't adopt 4 valves per cylinder technology - which would certainly give it more watts, but a temperament that's perhaps too sporty for its niche and philosophy. For that, there's the 1200 Sport or the Griso.
displacement aside, the 1200 Breva is strictly similar to the 1100. Same elegant profile, attractive and comprehensive dashboard, rigorous chassis and optional ABS. A word of caution, however: with its high displacement, engine character and weight approaching 250 kg with full tanks, the Breva is not to be approached like a 650 Bandit. A little experience and humility should be part of the riding code. Then the bike can reveal all its charm and joviality, and the delicacy of its comfort (albeit a little dry).
