presentation of the 800 Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS 2025
Having a good-looking motorcycle is no longer enough to attract premium customers. Hungry for technology and above-average dynamic and/or technical performance, the modern motorcyclist expects more than just two wheels, an engine and handlebars.
Especially when it comes to MV-Agusta. For the Italian manufacturer, touring is a fast-paced affair, and this is reflected in the 800 Turismo Veloce. More yachting than touring, in fact.
It's on this crossover that we discover a clutch-assist technology, which MV has christened SCS. What's it all about?
This acronym stands for "Smart Clutch System". An automatic system that manages the clutch by itself. To achieve this, the Italian engineers worked with Rekluse to develop a very special set of discs and components. One of the discs, fitted with counterweights, acts on the clutch via centrifugal forging, under the action of an electronic controller. As a result, the engine speed determines the clutch engagement and disengagement phases.
SCS-equipped Turismo Veloce models can be identified by their attractive transparent cover. And to satisfy purists, the clutch handle is still there, as the system works "in duo": you can choose to shift gears conventionally or with an automatic clutch at any time.
Why develop your own type of clutch? Semi-continuous CVT-type transmissions aren't sporty enough for a bike of this temperament. And robotized or dual-clutch gearboxes are too complex and heavy to match the 798 cm3 three-cylinder. The SCS wants to retain all the sportiness of the MV, not make it heavier, and free the rider from clutch management. All that's left is the foot.
MV has taken advantage of this new technology to install a parking brake, which can be activated via the rear brake.

Last but not least, the process is so well designed that it takes up no more space or weight than a conventional unit. On the other hand, this dessert weighs down an already hefty bill. Count on an extra 2,000 euros to relieve the left hand and take advantage of the standard 34-liter suitcases.
The Turismo Veloce models have had to endure Euro5, but they're not doing too badly. No loss of power to report, just 12% more torque at mid-range. The engine has received new parts, reduced friction, redesigned the exhaust and modified the gearbox ratios.
Life on board has been improved with a higher, wider bubble, a lower, more comfortable seat, a larger screen (5.5") with new graphics and revised suspension settings.
The electronics gain an IMU, angle-sensitive ABS, an improved 3.0 shifter, Bluetooth for smartphone connection and a Mobisat system to track the bike if it gets boarded.
in 2023, a few things are happening at the throttle. The staff worked on the sensitivity to make it more intuitive and progressive. They've also added a negative rotation "space" to deactivate the cruise control. Electronic engine management has also been fine-tuned.
