presentation of the 910 S BRUTALE 2006
At last there's a roadster capable of dethroning the sumptuous and bewitching 750 Brutale: it's the... 910 Brutale. It's hard to knock this MV-Agusta jewel off its pedestal, let alone improve on it. Yet that's exactly what the manufacturer has done, with the aim of erasing one of this machine's rare shortcomings, namely a lack of torque.
A sublime design, a legendary name and a big, furious engine: this is the equation MV-Agusta has solved. The bike's exterior remains unchanged (so much the better, it's magnificent), but it's mainly the engine that's changed. The bore, stroke and compression ratio of the 750 block have been increased, and some internal parts have been taken from the F4 1000's boiler. Barely heavier than the 7?, this mill is housed in the same frame as the Brutale "mid-size", a tubular chromium-molybdenum trellis. In terms of watts, progress is mouth-watering: 136 horsepower and almost 10 mkg of torque. But above all, the power curve is much fuller from 4,000 rpm to the red zone. We're almost always at least 20 hp more, whatever the revs. And when it comes to torque, it's even more obvious.
The chassis is as appealing as ever: huge 50 mm Marzocchi inverted forks and Sachs rear shock adjustable from anywhere, superb monobars and rims, hypersport tires - enough to have fun with the throttle.
To differentiate it from the 750, the 910 Brutale features a special logo and rev counter scale, eccentrically adjustable footrests and a quick-release crown.
750 or 910, 2 more reasons to go nuts with the MV-Agusta catalog.
blown fuse?!? So, off you go with the 910 to break the whole electrical panel. If you're not intimidated by this aggressive beauty and this frame filled like an egg by the bubbling 4-cylinder, the MV will quickly make you understand that you mustn't treat it like a savage. She's a lady, stiletto heeled and with a very Italian temperament. Respect, courtesy, and the Brutale shows itself to be full of grace and joviality; a roadster that's both light and fun, glorifying both the rider and the setting in which it evolves. But beware: in response to the throttle (which responds all too readily), the horde of thoroughbreds will try to twist the chassis, and your arms in the process. The high torque distributed at mid-range almost intimidates the chassis, which responds by frequently unloading the front wheel. Respect the brakes, too - grab the handle like a nutcracker and you'll see what it's like to have sheaths ripping up chunks of road.
The ardor of the engine is a festival of light and sound. As the tachometer needle soars in boundless ascent, the boiler unleashes the strength of its stud in raging vocals. A song and a force that awaken, deepen, serve and resonate the call of sport, the universal attraction of power, the intimidation that sublimates the intimacy of a machine full of ardor and audacity. An ode to sensual, carnal pleasure.
Exclusive, then?! Not so much. A beauty knows how to show off in society. And when it's time to stroll around town to challenge the gaze of envious and admirers alike, the Brutale responds nicely when commanded to do so. The damping isn't as stiff as you'd expect; the mill is powerful yet supple, and if the clutch weren't so hard, you'd be able to move forward with ease thanks to a pleasant set of controls. Granted, you can't see much in the mirrors because of the vibrations, the throttle is too lively and the price will put some people off. But I'm not talking about a motorcycle that's consumed like any other car - I'm telling you about a fantasy, a desire, something unreasonable...

The Motoplanete site is not a dealer or reseller, we only distribute information. So for the technical booklet, we do not have it in our possession, and concerning the resale in Reunion, you will have to turn to an MV importer.
