It's not every day that a three-time Formula 1 world champion contributes to the development of a special motorcycle series. Especially since this LH 44 is a tribute to the driver in question. Mercedes is increasingly showing its support for the Schiranna-based brand these days; not surprising, given the Etoile's 25% shareholding.

the Mercedes driver worked closely with CRC on this MV-Agusta, of which only 244 will be produced. The 800 Dragster RR LH 44 features an exclusive selection of around 50 details and bits and pieces.

Wait, what's 3K carbon? Is that like the definition level of a TV set?
Uh.... Almost; but in reverse. With this material, the less K you have, the better the quality. We're talking here about the fiber mesh. In 3K, the mesh is crossed, with 3,000 carbon filaments per thread. Top quality, longer and more expensive to manufacture than 12K, which is mainly used, but heavier and coarser.

the bloody combination of colors, the Hamilton stamp, the 44 on the MV and the carbon parts are not the only elements to enhance the prestige of this edition. The bike also boasts a cross-stitched Alcantara saddle finished off with an embroidered rider's logo, a matt black finish for the half handlebars, kickstand, fork crowns and footrest plates, and a selection of red-anodized Ergal parts. Levers, brake fluid reservoir covers, fuel filler caps and openwork engine casing covers are all made from this noble material. Final touches: the 44 badge on the ignition key and the nameplate with Lewis's signature and the panther logo, his emblem.
Unsurprisingly, the price is totally indecent. An argument that will hardly appeal to future owners of this future collector's item.
