presentation of the F3 800 RC 2017
mV-Agusta made a big impression in the World Supersport Championship. To commemorate this commitment, the victories, and the fiery spirit of its drivers (Frenchman Jules Cluzel and Italian Lorenzo Zanetti), the manufacturer is once again offering these F3s in an RC limited series. Like the first edition in 2015 and the F4 RC, this sports car comes with a special deco, identical to that of the machine entered in competition. With a prominent 37 as a reminder of the number of World Speed Championship titles won by the manufacturer.
however, it's not engine-tuned like the212-hp hypersportive. The F3 retains the same mechanical and technical specifications as the basic 800. That's more than enough to take off on the road and seriously weld on the track. Produced in 250 units, the F3 800 RC gains a number of special parts. It is fitted with Ergal levers with anti-breakage ball joints and footrests, a carbon seat cover, anodized aluminum covers for the mirror mounting plates, an MV Corse workshop stand and a Reparto Corse cover. A numbered plate is fixed to the fork crown, confirming this diva's exclusive character.
with 798 cm3 and 148 hp, the F3 is a breath of fresh air; with its 3-cylinder engine and MVICS package, this sporty machine distributes character and active safety. The F3 800 is equipped with the Motor& Vehicle Integrated Control System, i.e. about as many assistances as a Superbike machine. Let's put it simply: Ride By Wire throttle, 8-stage traction control, 4 engine maps - one of which can be adjusted in all directions. Then there's the standard EAS shifter.
Of course, we're flattered to have these co-pilots to limit the swerving of the fiery 3-cylinder, but will this 800 offer us more chassis qualities? Let's be blunt and say that there's more to come from evolution. The "big" F3 gains Brembo monobloc M4.34a brake calipers, which augur fearsome braking performance. Since the 675, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 1,380 mm, although the swingarm has been lengthened to 576.5 mm, for improved driveability. The 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork and Sachs monoshock benefit from new settings to handle the extra watts. Finally, the final drive ratio has been slightly lengthened. The ratio has been increased from 16/43 to 17/41.
After its widespread introduction on 4-cylinder models, the Tre Pistoni range is now equipped with ABS. The Bosch 9MP control unit is small, light and disconnectable. The F3 has two modes: Normal for on-road use, and Race for heavy-duty use.
more horsepower, a little more money, more speed, more acceleration, more fun... everything increases with this MV-Agusta F3 800? No, the weight remains the same: 173 kilos dry. As a result, the power-to-weight ratio is 1.17 kg/hp instead of 1.35 kg/hp for the 675. A muscular Italian. And we can trust it to be superbly sporty with its singularly rigid chassis, featuring the eternal frame combination of aluminum plates and steel trellis.
