Originally, it was just a publicity stunt. MV-Agusta and Pirelli wanted to honor the Diablo Rosso III tire by creating a 'Diablo' 800 Brutale - just one, to mark the occasion.
But it looks like the sauce has caught on, as the two Italian companies have done it again in 2018 with a special series of 800 Brutale RR Pirelli... and rebelote this time with the 800 Dragster RR.

what sparkle! Both wild and striking, this bike slaps the moment in the face. The Pirelli Design department took care of the decoration. The result couldn't be more convincing, with a pair of retina-piercing combinations. Yes, like last year, this special series of the Dragster 800 RR will be available in two colors. The mother-of-pearl white electrified by blue looks like it's ready for fashion week; the black/grey with ochre vapors revels in provocation. The detailing goes right down to the passionate relationship between the gumshoe and the rim, each scratched with paint in chiseled proportions.

whatever the color, the Dragster 800 RR Pirelli also aims to raise the bar in terms of quality, with a double-textured, overstitched seat double-textured seat, high-temperature ceramic paint on the exhaust pipes, and bits of rubber in certain areas. To underline the alliance with the Milanese manufacturer, the machine is fitted with Diablo Supercorsa SP 120/70s at the front and 200/55s at the rear, while rubber inserts are applied to the speedometer cap and the base of the fuel tank. Lightning bolts are carved into the inserts, a reminder of their cousinship with the tire range.

in the absence of new additions to the range, the Varese manufacturer/craftsman can be counted on to concoct special series that are just as likely to get you excited as the 3-cylinder will get your pulse racing. The ebullient 140 hp engine is not satisfied with half-measures, loves characterful rides and stretches the sporty chassis tightly around it.
An equivocal and appreciable achievement, priced in line with MV's special series: as unjustified as it is calibrated to the brand's aura.
