Motorcycle specifications MZ / MuZ125 RT 2009 New vigor

presentation of the 125 RT 2009
a new wind is blowing through the MZ brand as it makes its entry into the 125 market. Far from the rustic 2-stroke engines that are so much a part of MZ's image, the German brand offers its new small roadster a new, modern single-cylinder engine. equipped with twin camshafts and 4 valves, it features liquid cooling and a balancer. It produces 15 hp, perfect for French regulations, and is both smooth and powerful. Unfortunately, the poorly stepped gearbox means you can't take advantage of the engine's health in the last 2 gears. The rigid chassis makes for precise, efficient riding, and you can count on powerful braking - even disconcerting at the rear. The bike is quite classy, and the equipment list is of a high standard. It's just a pity that the seat doesn't lock and you can't store a U underneath.

I own a July 2000 MZ 125 RT and I'm looking for an ignition box and a voltage regulator
Do you have one? Or where can I find one?
Thanks

lots of adjustment problems at the beginning, and above all never go to "mtm" in corbeil essonnes, they don't know anything about it and nearly turned me off the brand
fortunately, I then discovered "trophy moto" in villeneuve le roi (94), then "eur ricane bike" in pringy (77)! super mecano, a retro biker's pleasure! Rating : 5/5 Respond to tomweb91
Minus: finishing problems (kickstand, stained seat, temperamental rev counter, hard-to-find neutral, power plant at 20,000...) but nothing too serious apart from a battery that needs changing on average every three years. Classic maintenance, reliable and fuel-efficient. Looks a little unassuming, could do with a radiator cover and sabot (the seat backrest suits it well)
The plusses: Comfortable even when riding as a duo, a pleasure to ride, you can really angle it safely (Michelin tires recommended) and make full use of its voluntary single for a 4t, an average of 120 on the odometer and a maximum of 135 at the 6th gear bottom (downhill and wind at your back). I'm having trouble changing it despite its age, not enough novelties in this style of moped. The scooter is more under study... Too bad. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Gilos
Bought this bike six months ago, 47,000 km, 1000 euros. At 50,000 km, I'm very happy with it, it's a good beast, accelerates vigorously, is very comfortable for the displacement (a must, I think), can cover long distances and runs easily at 120 odometer (115 real) and only drops to 90 km/h on steep hills. It's also as frugal as a camel (4L on average)
Shortcomings? It's not very sporty, the sound is neutral, it's a sort of faux trail bike (titmono), the equipment is a bit sparse, the cold idle is erratic (takes a long time to warm up), it doesn't like to sit under water to cool down, the meters aren't waterproof, the wheel bearings seem fragile, the brake discs wear out quickly, and the kickstand also seems to have problems with fragility
Otherwise, for practical motorcycling use, it holds its own against a good number of big bikes, including in terms of comfort and endurance. Quite unique in the 125 world. Worth a try! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Havoc

it's true that the importer is particularly pitiful (3-month wait for an RT 125 Classic Sport), which is quite a long time. Just a fault with the cylinder head gasket at the start, but otherwise it's a great bike that's hard to get rid of once you've ridden it
the weak point remains the unreliable importer Rating : 5/5 Respond to fortesck78
It's a real joy every time I take it out. It's pretty, easy to handle, comfortable... it's my favorite toy!
Admittedly, it's a bit... small! but it's a real eye-catcher!
The problem is... it never starts up again when hot. I have to push her... She gets on my nerves when she does that, but I don't care... I love my MZ! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Grenouille
the only downside is the lack of seriousness and professionalism on the part of the importer, who never respects delivery deadlines... as a result, I'm annoyed and my dealer takes the blame for the others :p Rating : 5/5 Respond to bilouze

Good performance on all types of road except expressways, where the extension is insufficient (15hp required). But in exchange, the RT makes up for it with a range of up to 400 km between fill-ups. Otherwise, I strongly advise you to invest in a windscreen, which will improve your comfort, the mono's performance and the overall stability at speeds over 90 km/h. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Chris

3000km without a care, it's indefatigable and makes me forget I'm on a 125cc,
especially with its nerves and impressive noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to amine
