Motorcycle specifications YamahaYBR 125 2009 Reincarnated utility

finally, a bit of dusting off on the 125 utility side. This new YBR takes up where the SR left off: a simple machine, designed for the city and ready to take on everyday tasks. Manufactured in China, the little Yamaha is powered by a traditional air-cooled single with a pair of valves and a single overhead camshaft. The simpler the better. The cost of maintenance promises to be derisory: minimum fuel consumption, one tire per year at the most, one set of brake pads per decade... Sensations are not included in the price. However, it does come with an electric starter backed up by an emergency kick, and a catalytic converter. A machine to get the job done at an unbeatable price. When you see the price tag on this bike, you might expect a big, hastily-built Lego, barely worthy of a 103 SP. But that's not the case with this little YBR. Both the equipment and the finish are very decent, and although it has no particular pretensions, it's a great city runner, and with its limited fuel consumption it won't have much use for service stations. It has to be said that the mill doesn't have many nags to water. 10 barrels won't get you off to the hot start of a V-Rod Destroyer, but it's enough to take you anywhere, provided you're not too demanding. Its utility role was written for it, and it plays it very well.

It's a great bike for touring, and I've ridden it to work a few times. The seat is super comfortable, fuel consumption 2.4L.
Low maintenance.
The original tires need to be changed quickly (no grip, slippery at the drop of a hat)
One regret, the lack of power beyond 75Km/h, struggling to wait for 95/100Km/h
(I've even ridden at 110Km/h on the fast lane, but with difficulty).
Ideal for city or country riding, the YBR is easy to handle and accessible to all, thanks to its low ground clearance (I'm a girl, so there's no problem getting the hang of it).
A very pleasant bike to ride, I have fond memories of it.

i don't push them because of the running-in, but you can feel that they want it and for the moment it's enough for my work, especially as I don't go to the pump very often, and that's a real plus. Rating : 5/5 Respond to sckatt
The replacement Michelin Sporty tire allows you to take a corner without apprehension and instinctively because you're not just thinking about the quality of the tire. 6000 km later, it's still very good and worn over almost its entire width. I'm going to put the same one on the front at the 12,000 km service
As a calm rider, I didn't think I'd feel any noticeable difference. It's like night and day
Hats off to Bertrand 78 for his annual mileage. I do 150 to 200 km per outing on winding roads and even once 700 km in two days (Cantal-La Camargue via the Cévennes: a treat, although too cold in places in autumn) but there ..
Fuel consumption is still very low. I add around 8 liters to the tank every 400 km

I've just passed the 24,000 km mark
This summer I went on vacation on my ybr
Paris, les sables d'Olonne, Biscarosse, the Pyrenees, Léons, Paris
Great ride where I could appreciate the injection above 1900 meters and the ease of starting in the morning whatever the weather.
I changed the brake pads at 23,000, and the tires are now Michelin sporty (Av at 6000, Ar at 12,000). The handling was transformed! Solo or duo, roundabouts are passed with an angle that astonishes many
The diversion fairing is no longer in place following a spat on the cobbles before my tire change. I had the valves adjusted twice, changed 2 headlight bulbs and 2 brake bulbs
Quite a few of my touring friends have switched to big cubes. For my part, I'm sticking with my little 125 for several reasons: cost, ease of maintenance, and 0 stress about the risk of theft
You'll often read that the ybr is a machine made for the city, it's true but it's much more than that, I think I've proved it. 24000km in 10 ½ months
Solo and duo, almost no city a lot of expressways, the rest on national and departmental roads. My favorite ride? Fetching crabs and spiders on the coast! From Saint Quentin en Yvelines, it's a beautiful walk and what a breath of fresh air when you get to Saint-Vvaléry-en-caux!
See you in March for the first anniversary of my ybr..

I have just two things to ask Yamaha, 1 horse or 2 more would be perfect to be able to overtake safely on roads limited to 90. And finally, please put a 110 tire on the rear and 100 on the front because the moped style made me hesitate a lot and I don't think I'm the only one in this case!
Now I'm taking the big cube license that I should have for Christmas (and yes it brought me this little bug), by the way, I would like to ask you, all the people who buy a YBR 125 and who only have the car license to take a few hours of motorcycle driving it's really worth the cost and you may save your life, driving a motorcycle even a 125 in extreme cases, is not as simple as we think
Have a nice day! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Phil
That's it, I've just passed the 10,000 mark!
Purchased on March 15th, I'm enjoying my little ybr, in town on roads and expressways
It's a great touring machine, allowing me to ride 300 to 400 kilometers a day at a ridiculously low cost, Paris Reins Paris, ...for less than 15 euros! We go out in groups and during these rides my favorite SDS doesn't hesitate to join the back seat. That's where the YBR's comfort reaches its limit
as for the rest ... change of rear tailpipe at 6000 and that's it.a si, j'i monté le carenage diversion, pour l'eclairage et le confort, ben oui, pepere il a mal aux cervicales!
precisin mon ybr est a injection, bien sur. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bertrand 7
And I mean motorcycle, because even though it's small, it's a real motorcycle
Top speed close to 120 on the odometer downhill, or 110 on the flat lying on the tank. In normal position and without wind, 100
Only big flaw. Braking in the rain. The front tire slips when braking hard
A mess after 4500 KM in two months
So in the rain, don't try to keep up with the biggest cube... Rating : 5/5 Respond to damien
On the other hand, I didn't find these made-in-China tires to be lacking in skill!
See you on the road! V Rating : 5/5 Respond to motomaniak
Weary of finding myself stranded, I hesitated to buy a 125 YBR injection: the effect of injection (?) and fear of not getting any pleasure after 2 years of riding a torquey 500
Well, I don't regret it. After 2,000 km in a very short space of time, average fuel consumption is 2.04 l/100 km (and even then, the strong wind ruined the average, with a peak of ... 2.25!)
If injection makes the engine linear, what a pleasure it is to tackle traffic circles without fear of carburettor misfires!
Compared to the SR, which I was happy with, for the same price there's a better driving position, injection, kick and rev counter
Will it age as well? To be seen
As it has more power than a large-displacement bike, I'm enjoying the ride, revising and applying the fundamentals I learned in motorcycle school
The new Cheng Shin tires seem just right. Rating : 5/5 Respond to astérix
YBR 10500 km
Max speed 120 downhill
Tire to be changed on the spot, I assure you!!! The difference is so obvious when you change the rear tire that you'd think you were riding another bike!
That's it, the only problem is the gearbox speed, which is stressful when you want to overtake a lorry on the freeway when it's a bit uphill or the wind is against you..
Other than that, it's a gem, I've cut the cost of my work trips by a factor of 3! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Metal3d
Acquired in March, I covered 1200km, no problem, the mechanics is very reliable, economic, vmax 110km/h, average accelerations, fair road holding, for 1990 euros(euro2 model), really very good. Pity side stand optional (45eur). bonne route. Rating : 5/5 Respond to nana
The only downside is that the original tires, which are far too thin, are an insult to safety. In wet weather, you're as likely to wallow as in a solex! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Marc
Bonne route à tous!

I haven't had a single problem since I bought it Rating : 5/5 Respond to riri74
It doesn't like wind or hills
It's ideal for city riding, and the cost of maintenance/petrol/insurance is ridiculous!
Perfect for getting started on 2 wheels and (for me) preparing for the motorcycle driving test! lol! Rating : 5/5 Respond to atraxion
it's a very good bike to get used to but in the long run it's a bit boring max 100kh
in bad weather and 90 in average weather
avoid in rainy weather or change the tires, otherwise I'm very happy with it, it's easy to handle and comfortable Rating : 5/5 Respond to CHRISTIAN
i'm completely satisfied with the design and value for money of the ybr. Obviously, if you're counting speed, it's not a 125 that you should buy, but for the month I ride it 56 kilometres a day and I find it superb, with nothing to say, and anyway, you can't ride it anymore because of speed cameras and signs, so it suits me fine... Rating : 5/5 Respond to jerme37
Now that I'm back on track with it, I'll be able to go bigger. Ride cool. TCHAO Rating : 5/5 Respond to LN
I can confirm: the YBR engine is puncture-proof. Don't hesitate to shift up a gear. Once you've got the hang of it, there are no more constraints, it's puncture-proof
Wind is like on most motorcycles, it has its effects (I felt my helmet starting to bend while riding the 500, and it's not too big)
The only real drawback is the tires: they don't stick to anything, and it's hard if they're made of wood. On the www.ybr125.online.fr website, some people are happy to give them away for free, that's saying something! I've had a few scares myself, even though I'm pretty careful
Otherwise, it's a really good bike. It's THE 125. There's a website (mentioned above) that's full of happy people. I'm currently taking my A licence, and frankly I wouldn't sell it afterwards, it's as easy to handle as you could wish, goes up to 110 (115 for some, but that's quibbling), it's a joy to ride, consumes nothing, and costs a pittance to maintain
Last but not least, "yamaha" means "yamaha insurance", with Macif I had to pay 695 euros a year, with the mutuelle des motards 350 (not sure) and with them, I pay 214 euros a year (or 19.60 a month). So even the insurance costs nothing
A+

After 7000 kms, I'm still as satisfied as ever. Very maneuverable, economical (approx. 2.7/100kms) and sufficiently powerful for city use. It's just a pity that wet grip is so poor. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bluemouse
Don't worry, I had the same concern about speed; so I went to see Yamaha (also from Rennes!) and they told me: "push it to the limit of red, the 4-stroke engine is puncture-proof, there's nothing to worry about"
And it worked, I don't know if it's due to that or if it's simply the weather?
But I've now got 7500Km on the bike, and it's still puncture-proof and doing 110km/h on the Rennes ring road. On the other hand, when there's a fart of wind when I take the four-lane towards Dinan, it's dead... I'm back down to 90!
Don't worry! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Théo
The engine idle setting needs to be reset, as it's not properly adjusted
Gearbox of very good quality
The only "snag" is the center stand and rear brake, which I personally took in gray. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Olivier
sirote 2.8l/100 and assurance canon(amv)
plus yam14 is top notch in terms of service and customer care Rating : 5/5 Respond to moozy14
There are a few things I'd like to take issue with: The rear tire, which is a scandalous pain in the ass in the rain (the small size doesn't have much to do with it, it's the quality that leaves something to be desired! The size makes the bike easier to handle), the top speed (it's missing 10km/h), but it's an economical four-stroke that's also a guarantee of reliability...at 2200E!
In short, it's a really cool bike for the city!
For the road, it's ok, for four lanes and more, it's limited but doable (it doesn't vibrate a bit)
A+ and thank you, it's thanks to these forums that I've been able to make a decision; and probably a good one!

Very light braking. Rating : 5/5 Respond to nico
it's a bit slow but it's perfect for getting the hang of it. you're not too surprised by the acceleration. it's ideal for beginners who don't know 2-wheelers at all. ps: for girls, it's perfect, finally a bike where my feet touch the ground when i'm on it. on the other hand, as soon as there's a bit of wind, you feel like you're riding a twig. deja 1300km et tres satisfait meme remarque que lors de mon post precedent
with the added bonus of finished running-in very good acceleration on the first 3 very lively and fun super for the duo remains the top speed 90 unfavorable 100 105 favorable
in short, the perfect utility vehicle for taking mom out for a drive and for freeway and trail cruising Rating : 5/5 Respond to didier
i've done 650km in 10 days, the first 500 in horror
70 max with the occasional danger of not going fast
but after 500km the grall 7500 tr and 90 she had a bit of trouble understanding that it was necessary to go up in the revs but at 600km she really accelerates
i think it's necessary to do a not too strict running-in to teach her what's expected of her
fuel consumption 2.36litre then 3 liter after 500km
very comfortable easy to drive nice noise very smooth engine with a lot of torque at low speeds gears go well you find the neutral point very well it is very comfortable in turns I find braking and tires correct without more
insensitive to crosswinds but sensitive to headwinds
comfortable as a duo I drove 30 km with the passengers at ease I don't notice any change as a duo it moves forward just as well the difference must be minimal except perhaps at top speed, which I can't test
faults the appearance of the tires the mirrors are too short the lack of storage space the choke is hard to find
at this price we can accept a few faults
looking forward to the 1000km Rating : 5/5 Respond to didier

Your little mono has a really nice mouth
Why don't you come up with the same thing in 350 or 500, and I promise I'll get back into motorcycling
I've had enough of 4-legged bikes all alike and trails reserved for bikers over 2 meters tall..
