presentation of the 1100 M4 2012
true to its motto of luxury and high-quality craftsmanship, the small NCR manufacturer reinterprets the Ducati Monster concept. The new M4 is a veritable sculpture, entirely devoted to carbon and noble materials. Its design is reduced to the strict minimum, with a rear end that can be reduced or maxi-compact, as desired. It's raw, it's unfinished, it's wild!
Ultra-light, the 1100 M4 weighs in at just 130 kg. That's barely more than the weight of a 450 cross. How did NCR achieve this minimal mass? By the massive use of carbon fiber. To keep things simple, let's list everything designed with this material: the fuel tank, timing belt covers, airbox, self-supporting seat, mudguards, oil cooler support and even the rims are all in carbon. The minimalist tubular trellis frame, weighing just 4.8 kg, is made of titanium. The sublime, tortured exhaust system has to make do with steel, but weighs just 5.1 kg. Small parts such as the fork tees and footpegs are made from solid aluminum. In this universe of shades of gray, bright yellow marks the signature of Öhlins, supplier of the 43 mm upside-down forks and steering and rear suspension dampers. A touch of red for Brembo, supplier of the 4-piston monobloc radial brake calipers.
NCR loves Ducati mechanicals. The twin fitted in the M4 is none other than the 1100 from the Monster Evo. It produces 107 hp and 11.5 mkg of torque. But the One Shot version of the M4 is much more appealing. Increased to 1200 cm3, the desmo can spit out 132 hp and push out over 14 mkg of torque. In this version, weight drops to 126 kgs. A superb power-to-weight ratio, but with an extra 20,000 euros to pay.
Like a pure café-racer, the M4's handlebars are adorned with tangy buttons. To make it look pretty? More like a Superbike-style fuel injection map. The Magnetti Marelli control unit also manages traction control, while your eyes acclimatize to a host of information from the MotoGP-style instrument panel. An extensive range of special parts allows you to customize this demonic machine to suit your needs.
The main concern with the M4, apart from the fact that the passenger is excluded, is the price. Like all high-pedigree creations, this machine comes with a hefty price tag. Expect to pay €40,000 for the base version and €60,000 for the One Shot - excluding tax.
