Harley-Davidson invites all motorcycle enthusiasts to extend their summer at its open days on September 13 and 14 in French dealerships. This event offers the perfect opportunity to discover the 2024 range, its accessories and equipment, while having the chance to win a magnificent prize.
Harley open days: an exceptional roadtrip at stake
In partnership with Eagle Rider Rentals & Tours, Harley-Davidson is offering an exceptional prize draw. The lucky winners will be offered a legendary 3,800 km roadtrip along the legendary Route 66, from Chicago to Los Angeles. The trip, scheduled for 2025, takes in eight iconic American states (Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California).
The package includes not only the rental of two motorcycles from the Grand American Touring collection, but also equipment, accommodation and unique experiences such as a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon. Return flights are also covered, for a total value of almost $16,000. Back in June, a Harley-Davidson and a trip to the USA were up for grabs to celebrate the motorcycle festival in Neufchâtel-en-Bray.
Unique Route 66 trip to be won: how to enter?
The poster was designed to appeal to a large clientele of enthusiasts.
All you have to do is book and test ride one of the brand-new Road Glide or Street Glide models, powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-twin engine, before September 30, 2024. Bikers, whether customers or newcomers, will have to rely on luck, however, as the draw will be carried out via a computerized system.
Harley Davidson: company shaken by conviction
Despite its initiatives, Harley-Davidson is facing another delicate situation. The Milwaukee-based company has just been ordered to pay $287 million (around 260 million euros) to the families of Harold Morris and Pamela Sinclair, victims of a fatal accident caused by a fault in the traction control system of a trike (see photo below) in 2020. This verdict, handed down by the American courts, is based on the accusation that Harley-Davidson did not sufficiently test this system before marketing it.
The brand has announced its intention to appeal, but this landmark ruling has sent shockwaves through the company, already weakened by recent controversies that have tarnished its image.
In the face of these challenges, Harley is striving to (re)win over the general public. Whether you're personally dreaming of a roadtrip on the legendary Route 66, or just want to enjoy the season, Harley-Davidson invites you to its open days. The weekend of September 13 and 14 is all about freedom and adventure...
