Cardo Systems, one of the world leaders in motorcycle communications, takes a spectacular step forward with the launch of its first range of full-face helmets: the BEYOND GTS and BEYOND GT models . After two decades of intercom innovation, the Plano, Texas-based brand reinvents the helmet by integrating all its cutting-edge technologies, transforming this passive piece of equipment into a genuine active safety and connectivity system.
This launch comes in an already dynamic market, where the integration of communication has become a major issue. A short while ago, we mentioned SENA, Cardo's main competitor with its Phantom, OutRush R, OutRide and Outstar helmets, which also offer an integrated intercom. The arrival of the Cardo BEYOND GTS intensifies this competition, pushing the technological envelope even further, particularly in terms of safety and audio.
The BEYOND GTS: concentrated technology for "active" safety
The flagship of this new range, the BEYOND GTS, is the fruit of several years of R&D and is positioned as a top-of-the-range helmet designed without compromise.
Carbon shell and ECE 22.06 approval
The helmet is based on a carbon fiber composite shell, offering an excellent protection-to-weight ratio, combined with a five-section multi-density expanded polystyrene (EPS). It is naturally approved to the most demanding new standard, ECE R22.06, as well as DOT. A titanium double-D buckle ensures maximum safety.
Active safety: game-changing features
Where the BEYOND GTS really breaks new ground is in its approach to "active" safety:

Integrated active brake light: a decisive feature for the passive safety of motorcyclists riding solo and in traffic.

2nd generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC)
At the heart of the GTS is the second-generation DMC (Dynamic Mesh Communication) intercom. This technology enables up to 31 motorcyclists to be connected on a "Public Mesh" network, with an advertised range of 2 km. Operation is facilitated by natural voice control and remote grouping. The system naturally integrates Bluetooth Live intercom, and remains compatible with all other major intercom brands.
Revolutionary audio by Cardo Sound Labs
Cardo is also putting its money where its mouth is with world-class audio innovations:

53 mm drivers: the largest ever integrated, designed specifically by Cardo Sound Labs for crystal-clear, powerful sound.

Beyond" comfort and practicality
The GTS is "Beyond" what is usually found in terms of comfort and everyday use:

Ergonomics and Ventilation: It has been optimized in the wind tunnel with an aerodynamic profile, and features a complete ventilation system (3 positions on the top and front, passive extraction at the rear).

Long-lasting comfort: The lining is antimicrobial, moisture-wicking and fully washable. A retractable internal sun visor is of course included.

Intuitive features: The headset features automatic on/off, a single-click interface for one-button functionality, and a removable battery with wireless charging. The components are designed to be maintained and updated (Over-The-Air).
Cardo BEYOND GT: a simplified, high-priced alternative
As a complement to the GTS, Cardo is launching the BEYOND GT, a simplified version with the same basic safety features (ECE 22.06, active brake light) and audio technology(ANC compatible).
The GT stands out for its fiberglass shell (instead of carbon), the use of a 1000 mA battery with wired charging (instead of wireless) and the integration of a 120XLT Pinlock (inferior to the GTS's Pinlock 200).
Despite these simplifications, the GT is clearly positioned in the very high-end segment. We can legitimately wonder whether, for bikers in search of excellence, it might not be better to make the effort to go all the way up to the BEYOND GTS to benefit from carbon fiber, full 2nd generation DMC, accident detection and wireless charging. The price difference could soon be justified by all the innovations exclusive to the GTS model.
Optimized weight and dimensions
Despite the extensive integration of state-of-the-art electronics (battery, 53 mm speakers, ANC and active brake light), the BEYOND GTS weighs in at 1,800g in M size (+/- 50gr). To guarantee optimum fit and external volume whatever the body type, Cardo has designed the GTS on four different shell sizes to cover all six interior trim sizes, from XS to XXL. This approach ensures superior ergonomics, limiting the "big head" effect and optimizing aerodynamics.
For this launch, the BEYOND GTS is available in a single black color, highlighting its carbon fiber.
