News Sena unveils a slimmer intercom: the SPIDER X Slim.

Communication systems manufacturer Sena announces the launch of the SPIDER X Slim, a new Mesh intercom featuring an exceptionally slim design.

A redesigned look thanks to a modular architecture

To minimize the device’s visual impact and preserve the helmet’s aerodynamic balance, the company has chosen to separate the battery from the main module. This separate battery can be installed inside or outside the helmet depending on the chosen configuration, without affecting the system’s battery life. The intercom also features customizable shells available in four finishes: black, chrome, silver, or white. According to Vlada Bokza, Head of European Motorcycle Marketing at Sena, this product reflects a commitment to offering premium technology that integrates more discreetly and seamlessly with the design of today’s helmets.

Technical Specifications and Audio Performance

In terms of features, the device incorporates the following technologies:

• Mesh and cellular connectivity: The system is based on the Mesh Intercom protocol (compatible with versions 2.0 and 3.0), allowing riders to communicate over a distance of up to 1.6 km. It also includes the Wave Intercom service, which uses the cellular network to provide communication with unlimited range.
• Bose Audio: Sound reproduction is handled by a system developed in collaboration with Bose, featuring a dedicated digital processor and specialized equalization designed to optimize the clarity of music, GPS instructions, and phone calls.
• Features and Ergonomics: The device includes AI-powered noise cancellation for the microphone, enhanced voice commands, FM radio, and IPX7-certified water resistance. Software updates are delivered remotely via OTA (Over-The-Air) technology.

Despite the compact size of the case, the module offers up to 11 hours of talk time.

The SPIDER X Slim is available on the market at the following suggested retail prices:
- Single-ear version: €279.
- Duo pack: €529.

This model also comes with the limited lifetime warranty offered by the manufacturer for its new generation of intercoms.
