To expand its X-Adventure line, launched over the past eighteen months, gear manufacturer XPD Boots is unveiling the X-Adv Tourmax H2Out. This fourth model adapts the off-road aesthetic to the needs of motorcyclists who enjoy grand touring and long-distance rides.

A Road-Oriented Design

In a trail segment where road use remains predominant, the X-Adv Tourmax H2Out takes a hybrid approach. Derived from the X-Adventure Mid model, it stands out with several ergonomic and aesthetic upgrades:

• A taller shaft for increased leg protection.
• An adjustable Velcro closure system.
• An all-black sole, moving away from the two-tone finish.

The outer structure consists of 1.6 mm microfiber panels with an oiled finish. Safety is ensured by a lower magnesium buckle with thermoformed protection, complemented by injected reinforcements at the heel and toe.

Ergonomics and Interior Comfort

To prevent discomfort during extended outings, the boot incorporates specific comfort features:

• Reduced friction: Lycra panels at the top of the shaft prevent skin irritation.
• Support and cushioning: memory foam protects the ankles, while an ergonomic Ortholite insole provides shock absorption and moisture management.
• Thermal regulation: The inner lining combines an antibacterial fabric with breathable Air Mesh panels, complemented by the waterproof H2Out tubular membrane for riding in all weather conditions.

Dual-density outsole: three functional zones

The key feature of this X-Adv Tourmax is its dual-density rubber outsole, designed to provide a balance between control on the footrests and stability when walking. Its design is divided into three distinct zones

• Central zone: made of reinforced rubber with a low-profile structure, it optimizes foot stability and precision of movement on the footrests, especially on uneven terrain.
• Forefoot zone: features more pronounced intermediate lugs to ensure good traction when stopping. The toe area incorporates tall, thin lugs that protect the toes while maintaining sensitivity around the gear shifter and brake pedal.
• Rear section: features inverted chevron-pattern lugs to maintain traction when walking downhill, as well as an asymmetrical heel profile that facilitates the foot’s natural roll. An EVA midsole provides the necessary cushioning and promotes flexibility.
