Sena is expanding its product lineup with the launch of the Apex and Apex Plus intercoms. The main technical advancement is the inclusion of a removable battery. These models come standard with two batteries—each offering 20 hours of battery life—and a dual charging station, allowing users to replace a depleted battery during a stop without having to shut down the device. The system thus offers up to 40 hours of total usage and allows for the eventual replacement of the battery when it reaches the end of its life. The batteries support standard charging and Qi-standard wireless charging.
Two versions depending on the number of riders
Both devices share the same hardware architecture and controls but differ in their connectivity capabilities:
- Sena Apex: direct Bluetooth connection limited to two users (rider to passenger or motorcycle to motorcycle).
- Sena Apex Plus: supports up to four users simultaneously (suitable, for example, for two motorcycles, each carrying a passenger).
The advertised maximum theoretical range is 1.6 km for both versions.

Ergonomics and Audio Processing
To make operation easier while wearing gloves, the Apex models feature a rotary push-button for adjusting volume and navigating menus (music, calls, intercom). Pairing is handled by a dedicated button (Quick Pair) that establishes a connection with a single press. Voice control is also built in to keep your hands on the handlebars.
Sound quality is delivered by second-generation 40-mm HD speakers. On the microphone side, an AI-powered ambient noise reduction (AINR) algorithm isolates the voice from aerodynamic and mechanical disturbances.

Mounting, Warranties, and Pricing
In terms of integration, the earbuds feature a slim profile (Slim Design) and attach to the helmet via a magnetic mount. Three interchangeable faceplates (silver, matte black, and white) are included to match the helmet’s color. Water resistance is certified to the IPX7 standard.
Priced starting at €239 (including tax), the Apex tops the brand’s Bluetooth lineup alongside the recent Vortex (€169). The latter remains an entry-level model: with a range limited to 1.2 km, no voice control, and a non-removable battery.
In terms of warranty, Sena offers a lifetime warranty on the main unit (limited to the original purchaser), while batteries and mounting kits are covered for 5 years.
