Motorcycle specifications Royal-EnfieldShotgun 650 Motoverse Edition 2024 Custom in neo-trance
presentation of the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition 2024
Royal-Enfield announces a new Bobber on its 650 platform. Anticipated for several years, the Shotgun is now available in a limited series of 25 units. A good way of attracting curiosity to this Indian representative of neo-retro custom culture.
The production 650 Shotgun won't hit the market until early 2024. On the other hand, participants in the Motoverse festival in Goa (a small state famous for its techno-trance movement) were already able to get a first-hand look at the Motoverse Edition. In fact, only they could reserve the 25 models in question. Either you were in Goa, or you weren't. This very limited edition model is priced at 425,000 rupees, or 4,655 euros. Don't get carried away, it will be impossible to get a similar price in Europe for the production Shotgun.
Sharper and more rebellious than the Super Meteor, the Shotgun follows the lines of the SG Concept prototype (which announced it). With its single-seat design, shortened mudguard and the omnipresent black finish on the chassis and powertrain, the Chennai Bobber could easily claim to be part of the Dark custom movement. But after swallowing some acid, it covers its bodywork in psychedelic blue and acid details.
It looks like a good dose of Ricqlès frisson on a 90% cocoa chocolate bar. Will it taste as good? Royal-Enfield didn't want to communicate on the machine's specs. That's a shame. We can, however, estimate quite a lot of technical features with a few shots and its DNA shared with the Super Meteor. Just the presence of its 647 cm3 twin-cylinder speaks volumes. It's rated at 47 hp on other bikes with it, and should offer just as much on the Shotgun. A Showa inverted fork, a brake disc per wheel with 2-piston Bybre calipers, twin side shocks and a dashboard with 2 asymmetrical dials are clearly visible. The first groups the main elements, including speed, general indicator lights and a liquid crystal window for fuel, trips, time, gear engaged, etc. The second, smaller, is for the engine's fuel consumption. The other, smaller one, houses the in-house Trigger GPS system.
Without further ado, what is the Motoverse? It's the largest concentration of Royal Enfields in south-west India, in the same way as Ducati's WDW or Harley-Davidson's Sturgis. The perfect place for an all-inclusive presentation. To discover the Shotgun 650 in all its glory, just a few more weeks are needed.
