presentation of the 125 MARAUDER 2000

suzuki's custom 125 comes in 2 forms: twin motorization with theIntruder, and mono with this Marauder. The machine is not devoid of charm, especially with its distinctive mudguards. In the custom category, the Marauder is one of the lightest and most maneuverable. The rider will appreciate the low seat height, good turning radius, original equipment (anti-theft switch on the dashboard, easy-to-reach choke, good seat) and the engine. Strong and sober, it delivers decent performance. But it's still a long way from winning out over the 125 twin-cylinder customs.

Very, very weak on hills, impossible to overtake.
I promised myself that if I got overtaken by a scooter, I'd stop and set it on fire (on the 125.) However, I was looking for an original pot, because of the technical inspection. In Ardèche or Gard

Very nice bike, great rides in the countryside with a fuel consumption of 2.6 liters per 100.a treat.its only flaw is the hills, engine a little tight, you have to downshift and it passes. Rating : 4/5

I had exactly the same one in blue, that famous midnight blue I've come to appreciate for a while, I'd bought it to remind me a little of my youth, because at the time I was 63, the four of them I wanted to go and see some friends who lived a long way away, and what's more they lived where there were winding roads and big climbs, that's when I unfortunately realized the error of my ways, because I was in situations where I couldn't even overtake a truck on an uphill gradient, and I had plenty of time to look at the scenery, but I must confess that if I had to grumble, I'd be banned from making long journeys, although it handles them well and is very resistant, I would have liked the same one in 500 to 600 m³, but unfortunately I was robbed at the same time as my car in my garage and 80% of my equipment, I would like to find one like that in the same color, i don't know if they're all more powerful then, 90et is 100 but not beyond very good road holding it had endurance and consumed little, goes very well for beginners and beginners if you offer me one I'll learn it well received all my sympathy Rating : 3/5
French Coco55 Model 2002
I've been riding my Suzuki for 2 years, a second hand one, a gift from my husband to start 2-wheeling. I'm from the Meuse and I've taken it as far as Normandy, and the Vosges too... This bike is comfortable, light, easy to maneuver, easy to ride... in short, for a first experience, it's pure bliss! Even if it lacks speed or, above all, acceleration, which greatly limits overtaking, the Suzuki Marauder is pleasant and easy to ride.
Personally, my only complaint is the learning curve... Passing the A2 license with the same driving habits and position on a marauder can slow our progress... I realize this today during my lessons! But I don't regret my marauder at all!

I've been riding this bike for over a year (about 3000 km). It's a pleasant bike to ride and holds the road well. I'd criticize its limited speed (90-95 on the flat), but it's a 10 hp bike, and its braking is not perfect. No problems to report for the moment, apart from a changed speedo cable (it currently has 20,000 km)
Rating : 4/5
French j@ck Model 1998
I've been riding it for 20 years now, and I'm still having just as much fun. What's more, at 2.5 l/100 km, it's a real camel. It's true that the top speed isn't great, but that's not what you're looking for on a custom 125.
Maintenance: 3 batteries, 2 sets of tires in 20 years, and I've just broken the clutch cable.
Unbelievable!

Hello, No, the Marauder only starts with the little switch on the right of the handlebars. All you have to do is put the gears in neutral, the little green light comes on, turn the red switch on the right-hand side to the on position, pull the clutch lever towards you and activate the starter after setting the choke. I've had my little marauder for 12 years, impeccable, no mechanical worries, no problems. I drive it from early April to October, and in winter it's nice and warm in my garage. Fuel consumption nil, 2.7 l. Maintenance idem. But it's great for touring in the sunshine of our beautiful country. Rating : 4/5

I just bought this 1998 Suzuki 125 marauder, in apparent good condition and not expensive. The only problem is that I don't have any documentation and the person who sold it to me doesn't know how it works
but it works. There must be some secret? Could you explain it to me?
Thank you in advance and relatively URGENT !!! Thank you

bonne machine mais y'a mieux
French simon Model 1998
Handy, reliable, comfortable, economical.
Quite a few design flaws, such as the original 15-tooth sprocket which doesn't allow you to use the 5th gear, and which deprives the machine of power. Once upgraded to 14-tooth, however, it clearly becomes more enjoyable (try it out for 10 euros and one chain link less, and you'll see it's much nicer). Just to adjust the chain tension, you almost have to dismantle the pot (the muffler in front of the bolt is pretty strong)...

Hello,
I've owned a Marauder for 10 years, as a gift from my wife. Having back problems, it's what I felt best on after trying out various models. I think it's a superb bike, despite a lack of power for overtaking. It's very easy to handle, the frame doesn't give way, and the handling is excellent, just like on rails. I live between GRENOBLE and VALENCE, so there's quite a bit of mountain. I ride with my retired friends, all of whom have 15hp machines superior to mine. In the mountains, I'm left not far behind (Col du Rousset) on the main road and expressway, where it goes very well, and on the Grenoble bypass, where I was able to ride it at full throttle at 115. My friends ask me what I gave her. I had a good, conscientious run-in up to 1500kms, then occasionally shifted the gears, but not for long. From 8000km onwards, I tried to use the maximum gear whenever possible, respecting the speed limits. In terms of maintenance, it's not expensive, and parts aren't very expensive. Of course, I equipped it with windshield, footrest and handles, turn signal grids, headlight cap, cylinder shield, avia hose, sissi-bar
We did a mountain day last year, the Isère and Savoie passes (450 km), which was a bit of a pain in the butt, but the scenery was worth it. My machine's red, so if you're in the area, maybe we'll have a chance to meet and talk. Best regards to all. DAN 38

March 2009, I bought a Suzuki 125 Marauder. This little bike is really great, comfortable and very economical
On the other hand, it's cruelly lacking in top speed, capping out at 90km/h, so as soon as there's a headwind or a small hill, you're stuck on the asphalt
Too bad it deserves better
I'm also going to put a 14-tooth instead of the standard 15 on the transmission output

Hello,
I've had a Suzuki Marauder 125 CC since April 2009. The model of this bike is from 2007. I bought it used for 2200 euros (with registration and oil change) and I bought 400 euros worth of accessories (saddlebags, top case, windshield, passenger backrest, helmet). Total: 2600 euros for an almost new bike with 3500 km on the clock. Insurance in addition: 110 euros per year
I do 60 Kms in the morning + 60 Kms in the evening, 5 times a week. I top out at 105 kph and it invariably consumes 2.85L/100Kms on average. In other words, I can drive (and I did once, it was risky...) 466 Kms before using up 13.40 liters of 95 unleaded petrol. But it's true that with a headwind, I can sometimes reach 80/85 kph, but hey, it's better than the car, and the style with my studded panniers and all, makes colleagues and students want the same :)
And I'm planning to ride to Grenoble (550 km) this summer..
Bonne route to all owners of the 125 Marauder...

I've owned a green 125 MARAUDER for 5 years
Now that I have to drive it to work for want of anything better, I can tell you that I appreciate its comfort
Of course, some things are missing (gauge, krick, center stand, etc.)
But the biggest handicap is its top speed, with a headwind you can't go faster than 90km/h
Otherwise, with its wide tires and low fuel consumption, it's worth the price...

hello everyone, I've just bought a second-hand Marauder and like you, I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of punch. as for the rest, I'm satisfied: fuel consumption, reliable, easy to maintain, pleasant for two-up rides without exceeding 100 kms. Rating : 5/5

I already have a large-displacement motorcycle (1200cc) and a 125 Marauder for my 20 km commute through traffic
With the 1200, journey time 35 mn, fuel consumption 7.5l/100 speed
With the 125 Marauder, journey time 35mn, fuel consumption 3l/100, annual insurance 90 euros and light maintenance
So, when I want to ride, I take the 1200 Bandit, and when I go to work, the 125 Marauder

This bike is a real pleasure to ride and ideal for short or medium trips, alone or with a partner, WITHOUT NEEDING A MOTORCYCLE LICENCE. For optimum use of the 5th gear, simply change the chain sprocket from 15 to 14 teeth!!.. Good luck to the customers.... Rating : 5/5

French zythro Model 1998
I've had this bike for 5 months, bought second hand at 4500KM for 10000 FR, and the price is a real advantage, even when new. The chassis is simple but powerful, the braking a little tight at times, and the performance fairly average, in fact you have to push the gears to get a 95 100km the 3 and 4 respond well but the 5 is difficult to use so much you have to go up in the revs to maintain a decent speed. In a duo, comfort is particularly pleasant for the driver and passenger on short, cushy trips, but avoid 100km trips where the vibrations get up your bum. Extremely low maintenance, ultra-reliable engine and a real motorcycle sound with a thumping single! In short, an ideal bike for getting to grips with on the cheap! Rating : 5/5
