presentation of the DL 650 V-STROM XT 2016

Does the V-strom 650 ring a bell? Suzuki's Swiss Army knife trail bike, easy, versatile, rather discreet, and obviously starting to get a bit bored between the road and the buildings. Its pals, like the Tiger 800 XC or the BMW F 800 GS Adventure, don't mind defending their adventurous looks. Why not him, a distant descendant of the DRs and motorcycles that crossed many a terrain?
well, there's no time to procrastinate. Sneakers and friendliness go out the window. The 650 V-Strom breaks into the trekking section (especially in the accessory-laden version pictured here) and announces its XT version - nothing to do with Yamaha's glorious mono trail bike. The spirit sails towards the horizon and, as a result, the face changes. The addition of a "duckbill" makes it much more vindictive. It's not much, but it can radically change the impression you give when you're discovered. And it does!
Of course, it's out of the question to set off on an adventure with a stick in your wheel. The V-Strom 650 XT is fitted with spoked rims that accept tubeless tires. ABS is standard, but to really enjoy the ride, you need to go for the optional extras, and the XT really comes into its own: tubular side guards, aluminum Grand Raid luggage kit, windscreen with deflector, engine cowling, additional headlights and a pair of handguards.
a sound chassis and an excellent 645 cm3 twin engine are sure to get the job done. On a day-to-day basis, riders will appreciate the V-Strom's adjustable seat, easily accessible amorto preload knob and ease of handling. At 69 hp, the twin-cylinder engine may be a little short on power if the XT is loaded to the brim - Hamamatsu is considering evoking 800 of the Suz block. Still on the subject of inflation, some would have appreciated a few extra liters in the tank; the 20 liters are sufficient, but extra buckets strengthen the spirit of going further. Last but not least, Suzuki's pricing policy. The full-option 650 V-Strom XT should be available at the same price as its near-naked rivals. To be confirmed...
