presentation of the DL 1000 V-STROM XT 2019
In 2017, Suzuki's big trail bike received a major overhaul. Not just stylistically, but also technically. The V-Strom III is instantly recognizable with its less tortured, squarer face and enhanced equipment. A taller bubble, handguards and sabot as standard, the adoption of Bosch's multi-axis inertial unit, progressive cornering ABS, Easy Start and Low RPM Assist - everything is detailed in the standard 1000 V-Strom sheet.
this evolution, motivated in part by the need for Euro4 compatibility, is accompanied by a more adventurous version, the XT. It's more typical, especially since it's not yet suitable for cross-country riding. The difference lies mainly in the adoption of spoked wheels.
Is that all?!? Yes, but with them, the 1000 V-Strom XT looks good. Just a little more, but enough to give it the stature it deserves. However, if you're going to offer two versions of the same bike, why not give this one a little more pretension? How about an aluminum engine cowling, upgraded suspension and a new set of side guards? Maybe some other time...
in the meantime, it's up to you to enjoy an enthusiastic 1037 cm3 twin-cylinder, a lively, playful chassis, a competitive price and the qualities of this trail-GT. Still not enough to rival the masters of the segment, but a real alternative - especially if reason prevails.
the 1000 V-Strom 's electronics:
- The left-hand commodo is equipped with a control knob for navigating dashboard info and adjusting traction control.
- Suzuki has added a 5-axis Bosch IMU inertial control unit to optimize ABS in corners. Suzuki calls this the Motion Track Brake System. In addition, braking is now coupled.
- Low RPM Assist facilitates take-off by increasing engine speed when the clutch is released.
- Easy Start - simply press the start button, and the system will continue on its own until the engine is started.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 4 reviews
The difference is clear not only in engine performance and braking, but also in the quality of the suspension and the precision of the handling, making it even more fun to ride on small, winding roads.
The electronics are just about adequate, with no need for unnecessary adjustments
Protection is a bit tight despite an optional Puig bubble, but I'm 1.91 m tall.
I'd rate it 4/5, as there are a few areas for improvement:
_ no "motor mode" setting
_ correct 350km range, but less than the old 650
_ turning radius a bit large
In any case, I'm delighted with my purchase, which I use for work, outings and holidaysðŸ'😊 Rating : 4/5 Respond to Xt 500
