presentation of the 955i DAYTONA 2001

following its renaissance, the 3-cylinder has become THE Triumph engine. It can be found in both the T-bird and the Tiger trail bike. Since the T 595, and this 955i evolution, you've been entitled to its sports version. Compared to its predecessor, this distiller has become lighter and less cumbersome, and engineers have greatly optimized it. More horsepower, but less mid-range gniak. It loses some of its personality, but retains the playfulness of a 3-legged machine: more bottom-end torque than a 4, smoother than a twin, and plenty of reach. In front of the 955i, the Daytona also changes its exhaust camshafts. Pushed into the revs, the mill is enthusiastic, powerful and endowed with an intoxicating melody. The Daytona's originality doesn't stop there. The chassis features a curious but effective aluminum-tube perimeter frame and a superb single-sided swingarm. Added to this is an attractive, slender design with a strong identity. Not the lightest in its class, but certainly one of the most captivating. This new generation has gained in agility, and since the '99 vintage, a new, more compact exhaust manifold has increased ground clearance. The bike is lively and precise without being confusing. And with great braking, there's plenty to enjoy on the road.

French Model 2001
A very comfortable motorcycle for a sports bike, with an incomparable engine in terms of comfort, sound, power and fuel consumption. Smooth handling and very powerful, proportional braking. Today, after 44,000 km, no mechanical problems and still the same pleasure to drive. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2001
Superb, superb bike with a smooth, torquey, melodious engine. Low fuel consumption (6lts on average), more than acceptable comfort for a sports bike, powerful and progressive braking. Reliability is top-notch, with 44,000km on the odometer and not a single mechanical problem. English look and original bike (not something you see on every street corner). Rating : 5/5
French Model 2001
