presentation of the RSV 1000 2001
Producing mainly small-displacement bikes, Aprilia has done rather well with its first big sports bike. Its engine, a 60° V-twin, is a technological gem. In addition to fuel injection, it is equipped with a pneumatic clutch-assist system for downshifting. Torquey, powerful, fairly smooth and with plenty of reach, the mill is a pleasure to use. It's a hypersport, but not as exclusive as its Bologna rival.
Above all, it's easier to ride, even if you have to put a lot of effort into it. The bike requires the rider to use his or her body to place it - and the reassuring, efficient front end makes it easy to do so. The Aprilia can be enjoyed on the racetrack as well as in everyday life. With its accommodating suspension, pleasant controls and protective fairing, this is a generous sports bike in many respects. A few regrets, however: the rear shock absorber doesn't cope well with minor bumps on bumpy roads. As for the brakes, they could do with a little more bite under hard braking.

2001 saw the first modifications to Noale's big sports car. The fork head is fitted with small side deflectors, the fairing sides and rear shell are slightly redesigned, the fuel tank loses 2 liters of capacity, the rear shock absorber is changed and the top end is subtly revisited. Dry weight is down 2 kilos.

This is my 34th bike and my first European bike. And this time I'm not disappointed, I'm just happy.
The engine, chassis and equipment are all top-notch
With the exception of the rear brake, which is absent, and the front brake, which lacks a bit of bite
In short, I love an Italian that can be used like a Japanese. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Gsxrbob

at first I thought it was a hose that hadn't aged well, but now I don't know what to think. In one week I've filled up a big can of food, so if there's anyone who can explain it to me, please do. Thanks in advance.
