presentation of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro 2022

We 're not on the savannah, nor on the edge of Bengal. Yet we hear a hoarse, menacing, fearless roar. A big tiger approaches, stalking the best trail-GTs. He's been circling them for the past 10 years, but now he really does see them as prey.

For his hunt, the 1200 Tiger has changed in its entirety. The designers' hard work has taken it to a whole new level. More powerful and much lighter.
It has taken the 3-cylinder engine from the Speed Triple RS, one of the best big roadsters around. The result is a 9-horsepower gain to 150 hp, less weight, less bulk and more torque, despite the smaller displacement of the old engine.

With a new frame, a completely redesigned swingarm (goodbye to the single-arm), a less clumsy look and better braking (Brembo Stylema, 320 mm discs), the British trail bike is positioned between sport and touring. The Pro version also asserts a much more pronounced vocation.

Visually, it's hard to tell the difference with the basic GT. Except for the choice of colors, which is three times greater. It's all in the equipment. Starting with the underside of the beast, enriched with a center stand and a small aluminum engine mount. As you move up, you'll notice the presence of additional headlamps and heated grips, before arriving at the dashboard where a number of electronic assistants are lined up.

The 7-inch (almost 18 cm) TFT color display is standard on all Tiger 1200 models, but on the Pro it comes with 5 riding modes (Sport - Road - Rain - Off-Road - Customizable Rider). It doesn't take long to realize that the headlights are adaptive when cornering, that the boot can control an Up&Down shifter, that we can do without the gymnastics of the hands for hill starts, given that there's a Hill Hold system; then the dowry reveals cruise control, the presence of a USB socket and a few other features, common with the GT.

Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro 2022 because Triumph has decided to equip its big trail bike right from the first trim level. This is understandable, given the price demanded from the outset, and the desire to tackle BMW by aligning itself with the GS's taro. Let's take a brief look at the Showa semi-active suspension, keyless entry system, IMU-supervised traction control and cornering ABS, height-adjustable bubble and seat, etc....
It's a pity Hinckley didn't supply a higher bubble for the GT Pro, to refine its touring potential. Perhaps for the Explorer version? Not yet.
Because there's an even better-equipped version, which we'll choose above all for its 30-liter fuel tank and more upmarket technological content.

Thus equipped, the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro can present itself as a far more seasoned machine than the old XRx; it even outclasses the XRt in most areas. Faced with the German benchmark, the challenge remains tight. But never before has the GS been so much attacked and even pushed around by the competition. The tiger can now be one of the most menacing.

French Alain33470 Model 2023
I've had this bike since April 2025 (model 2023), 8,000 km on the road, and it's comfortable and powerful. In trail mode, however, its behavior is very different from that on the road, gaining in suppleness with acceleration and torque at very low revs. I've just done a 130 km trail in the mountains, with occasional passages that are a little tricky but not difficult, but when you pick it up again in 1st or 2nd gear at 1,500 revs without flinching, it picks up again with suppleness and power.
The only minor gripe is that it gets a bit hot in town... or on slow roads, but apart from that it's a great bike.

French Walter Model 2024
Formidable motorcycle, I've been riding it for a year now, 13,000km, Vill, departmental, national, freeway, mountain, solo, duo, it knows how to do everything. The 3-cylinder tplane is unbelievably smooth and full on both low and high revs. It's incredibly agile and easy to handle. I'm 50 years old, it's my nineteenth motorcycle, the one I feel most comfortable with. Rating : 5/5
