presentation of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro 2025

Invisibly, the 1200 Tiger receives a number of new features for the new model year. A whole range of small parts to improve everyday riding pleasure. There are no exterior modifications, but the Tiger gets new crankshaft, alternator rotor and balancer shaft to increase engine inertia and low-end torque.
Quieter, the three-cylinder also offers a smoother clutch, and vibrations reaching the rider are short-circuited by silent-blocks on the handlebars and saddlebags (a transplant from Explorer versions).

It also aims to facilitate on-board accessibility. A new, flatter seat offers more space, while the "Active Preload Reduction" function automatically lowers the bike's rear suspension by 20 mm when stationary. Last but not least, we've thought of all those with a very dynamic riding style: the footrests have been raised to take more of an angle before things start to chafe

This makes for a more pleasant atmosphere on board, while the thriller can begin. We're not in the savannah, nor on the edge of Bengal. Yet we hear a hoarse, menacing, fearless roar. A big tiger approaches, stalking the best trail-GTs. He's been circling them for more than 10 years, but now he really does see them as prey.

For his hunt, the 1200 Tiger has changed in its entirety for 2022. An enormous amount of work on the part of the designers has taken it to a whole new level. More powerful and much lighter.
It takes its 3-cylinder engine from the Speed Triple RS, one of the best big roadsters of the moment. The result is a gain of 9 horsepower to 150 lb-ft, less weight, less bulk, and more torque despite the smaller displacement of the old engine. Gone are the days of the 1215 cm3!

Triumph Tiger 1200 GT combined with higher revs and a narrower rear tire, the big Tiger will boost both acceleration and agility. Given the source of the boiler, Triumph has certainly kept some under wraps for future developments. But before that, it's also showing more willingness to lift the terrain. Despite the reduced cubic capacity, it develops more torque. Its 13.2 mkg show a remarkable progression - consider that the force increases from 122 to 130 Nm.

With a new frame, a completely redesigned swingarm (good-bye single-arm), a less wobbly stance and better braking (Brembo Stylema, 320 mm discs), the British trail bike is somewhere between sport and touring. Its equipment starts with cornering responsiveness for traction control and ABS. This is followed by handguards and the Keyless locking system. Braking is taken to a much higher level with larger discs (320 mm instead of 305 mm) and the famous Brembo Stylema calipers, while suspension is semi-active on all versions. There's also a center stand and a small aluminum engine mount. Other little touches make for a pleasant ride, such as windscreen deflectors, space under the seat with a USB socket, backlit controls and a high-tech cockpit. As you go up, you'll notice the presence of additional headlights and heated grips, before arriving at the dashboard where a number of electronic assistants are lined up.

Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro 2025

The 7-inch (almost 18 cm) TFT color display is standard on all Tiger 1200 models - on the Pro, it comes with 5 riding modes (Sport - Road - Rain - Off-Road - Customizable Rider). It doesn't take long to realize that the headlights are adaptive when cornering, that the boot can control an Up&Down shifter, that you can dispense with the hand gymnastics of hill-starting thanks to the Hill Hold system; then the dowry reveals a cruise control..

Thus equipped, the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro can present itself as a far more seasoned machine than the old XRx; it even outperforms the XRt in most areas. Faced with the German benchmark, the challenge remains tight. But never before has the GS been so much attacked and even pushed around by the competition. The tiger can now be one of the most menacing.

French Alain33470 Model 2023
I've had this bike since April 2025 (model 2023), 8,000 km on the road, and it's comfortable and powerful. In trail mode, however, its behavior is very different from that on the road, gaining in suppleness with acceleration and torque at very low revs. I've just done a 130 km trail in the mountains, with occasional passages that are a little tricky but not difficult, but when you pick it up again in 1st or 2nd gear at 1,500 revs without flinching, it picks up again with suppleness and power.
The only minor gripe is that it gets a bit hot in town... or on slow roads, but apart from that it's a great bike.

French Walter Model 2024
Formidable motorcycle, I've been riding it for a year now, 13,000km, Vill, departmental, national, freeway, mountain, solo, duo, it knows how to do everything. The 3-cylinder tplane is unbelievably smooth and full on both low and high revs. It's incredibly agile and easy to handle. I'm 50 years old, it's my nineteenth motorcycle, the one I feel most comfortable with. Rating : 5/5
